UL03302: LANGUAGE REVTALIZATION AND DOCUMENTATION

SEMESTER 1, SESSION 2023-2024

QUESTION:
One language dies every 14 days. By the next century nearly half of the roughly
7,000 languages spoken on Earth will likely disappeared as communities abandon
native tongues in favor more prestigious languages.
Do you agree in the case of native and indigenous languages of Malaysia? Discuss.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1) ESSAY WRITING (30%): Group Work, Group Mark

Write an essay in MICROSOFT WORD based on the question above. 1 group-1 essay.
Each member has to write a part/point/subtitle about 3 pages long of essay. And all points have
to be combined into an essay with cover, table of content, content, references, and appendices.
Font Tahoma 11, space 1.5. Leader of the task will combine into a file and email to Sir Juhar
Harun (mdjuharharun@gmail.com) cc (jane@ums.edu.my) in PDF formal. Please name the file
as ESSAY S?G? (based on your group no). Submit by end of week 10 (17 DEC 2023, Sunday,
11.59pm) .

2) VIDEO PRESENTATION (20%): Group Work, Individual Mark

Prepare a recorded VIDEO PRESENTATION with your face on a power point slide.
1 group-1 presentation. Each member is given 3-minutes to present 1-3 pages of slide based on
your essay part/point/subtitle. Please put your respective name on each page of your slide.
And all slides have to be combined into a slide presentation into one file. Leader of the task will
combine and send to my google drive. Please name the file as SLIDE S?G? (based on your
group no). Submit by end of week 11 (24 DEC 2023, Sunday, 11.59pm) at following Google

Presentation of pre-recorded video will be played in week 12 (G1-G4) & week 13 (G5-G8)

3) GROUP ACTIVITIES (20%): Group Work, Individual Mark

All members will have to fill in PEER REVIEW FORM according to their group member’s
respective performance throughout all group activities. Leader of the task will combined all the
forms and email to me (jane@ums.edu.my) in Excel form. Please name the file as PEERREVIEW
S?G? (based on your group no). Submit by end of week 14 (7 JAN 2024, Sunday, 11.59pm).

4) Quiz (30%): Individual Quiz, Individual Mark

All members will have to take a quiz on week 8 (27 N0V, 29 NOV & 30 NOV 2023).
