I really enjoyed working in a team.

Write a report for your teacher, giving your views.

Your report should be between 150 and 200 words long.
You will receive up to 8 marks for the content of your report, and up to 8 marks for the

A STAR MODEL ANSWER

Introduction

In the light of my participation in the recent ‘work experience week’, I have prepared the following
report highlighting the vital information we obtained from the experience as well as suggestions for
the furtherance of future suchlike.

Work experience week

Being a small town, the slots available in local businesses were barely sufficient. Notwithstanding, as
seniors, this experience was the closest insight we had into what the future holds; it gave us quite an
idea about balancing our time between work and life. More importantly, it was unanimously agreed
that the key highlight of this week was teaching us how to manage pressure and deadlines like
successful entrepreneurs. As for me, learning how to enhance my interpersonal skills and confidence
by working at the local bank was a real eye-opener.

Despite the immense benefits, some students found the experience irrelevant to their careers as
allocation was done in register order. Many argued that working in an unrelated field was pointless
and oftentimes unexciting. Even more discouraging was the workload; having to tend to school work
on top of the work experience event was highly frustrating and burdensome.

Conclusion

To improve the coming year’s ‘work experience week’, I firmly suggest the school to categorise
students considering their chosen ambition as well as to organise such programmes during the holiday
seasons so as to minimise the strain and improve its effectiveness. Lastly, an arrangement to
experience work in the capital city would certainly broaden students’ understanding of the manifold
opportunities available.
