WHAT YOU NEED:

-Fabric 16 in x 6 in (42 cm x 16 cm)
-Needle
-Iron
-Matching thread
-Scissors
-Velcro 1 in x 1/3 in (2,5 cm x 1 cm)

PRINTING AND CUTTING

1. Print out the pattern pieces at full size.

2. Cut out the patterns.
3. Lay A pattern piece on wrong side of the fabric and trace it using either chalk or a marker. Cut
it out.
4. Fold your piece of fabric in half. Place B and C pattern pieces right along a folded edge of the
fabric, with no seam allowance added. Trace them and cut the pieces out.
5. With right sides together fold all pieces in half lengthways and stitch along the longest edges
with a 1/4 inch (0,5 cm) seam allowance. Remember to leave the opening in piece C.
Press the seams open in pieces A and B.

6. Clip the corners in piece C.

7. Turn right side out all pieces and press. Seams in A&B pieces should be in the center of one
side.
8. Piece B: Fold in 1/3 inch (1 cm) on each end of the tube and press.
Place Velcro on both ends of piece B and sew them on. Remember to sew Velcro on two opposite
sides of piece C (one on the side with the seam and the other one on the side without the seam).
9. Take your piece C and fold it to mark the half of this piece. Continue folding as shown in the
pictures.

10. Place folded piece C on the piece B and pinch the middle to form the shape of the bow.
Secure both pieces with a pin. Thread your needle through all layers and go back and forth a few
times securing the shape and then tie a knot in the end.

11. Piece A: Fold it in half and stitch 3/4 inch (2 cm) from the folded edge. Trim the excess fabric
and flip so the raw edge is on the inside.
12. Take pieces B and C and push them through the ring (piece A), until the ring is in the center
of the bowtie. Secure them with a few hand stitches.
