identified on the panel adjacent to each dimmer potentiometer.

Position Lights Cont’d

When the switch S1 is set to POSN, the primary and secondary


lights initially come on. Approximately one second later the electron−
ic switch units remove the ground return from the secondary lights.
The removal of the ground return causes the lights to be switched
off, but stay armed to switch on the secondary light if a failure of the
primary light occurs.

Logo Lights

Two logo lights (left and right) are installed to light the airline logo
on each side of the vertical stabilizer. The lights are installed on the
lower left and right sides of the horizontal stabilizer. There is one
logo light on each side of the vertical stabilizer.

The logo lights are controlled from a switch identified as LOGO on


the right EXTERIOR LIGHTS panel in the overhead console and
through relay K1 on relay panel No.1. The 28 volts DC power from
the left main DC bus.

The emergency lights system, provides interior and exterior emergency


lighting for use in emergency evacuation of the aircraft or in the event of
failure of the essential DC power.

The emergency lights include the following components:
