Special Emphasis: Teacher Leader Model Standards and NBPTS Core Propositions
Directions:
Identify at least one standard (NBPTS, ISTE C, Teacher Leader Model Standards) that is the special emphasis focus of your project.
Explain how these standards will be incorporated. You may add more than 1 if you wish.

This project is connected to the ISTE teacher standards:

2.3.a Create Positive Experiences: Create experiences for learners to make positive, socially responsible contributions and
exhibit empathetic behavior online that build relationships and community.

2.4.d Demonstrate Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural competency when communicating with students, parents, and
colleagues, and interact with them as co-collaborators in student learning.

This project connects to both of these ISTE standards because when teachers are aware of their identities and if those identities are
reflected in the student body, and aware of biases they may have, they can create a more welcoming environment for all students to
have positive experiences in school. Teachers will also be able to be more aware of biases, similarities and differences in cultures when
communicating with families and colleagues.
