ULTRASOUND REPORT

Date released: March 4, 2024

Examination: Ultrasound of the whole abdomen + appendix

FINDINGS:

The liver is within normal size exhibiting homogenous parenchymal echopattern.

Intrahepatic ducts are not dilated. Proximal common ducts measures about 0.2 cm
which is within normal size. Portal vein and its tributaries are remarkable.

The gallbladder is normally distended measuring about 4.7 x 2.0 cm (LxW) in its
widest transverse AP diameter. Lumen is echo free. The wall is not thickened.

The pancreas shows homogenous parenchymal echopattern. There are no masses

noted. The splenic vessels are not dilated.

Both kidneys are normal in size, the right measuring about 9.6 x 4.0 x 4.5 cm
(LxWxAP) with cortial thickness of 1.7 cm and the left kidney measures
approximately 9.4 x 3.8 x 4.2 cm (LxWxAP) with cortical thickness of 1.6 cm. The
parenchymal echopattern in homogenous. Both pelvocalyceal systems are not
dilated. No lithiasis noted.

The urinary bladder is physiologically distended showing smooth contour and outline.
No evident lithiasis seen. The wall is not thickened.

Scanning of the right quadrant shows presence of a hypoechoic tubular structure

having an approximate AP diameter of 1.0 cm. Tenderness was elicited in the right
lower quadrant at the time of the examination.

Impression:

- Unremarkable liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and urinary

bladder

- Consider acute appendicitis. Clinical and CT SCAN correlation is suggested

for further evaluation
