OBJECTIVES reasoning: supplementary angles, complementary angles, congruent angles, vertical
angles, adjacent angles, linear pairs, perpendicular lined, and parallel lines.

At the end of the 60-minute period, (at least 85%) of the learners should be able to:

1. Define different properties of angle and line.

A. Review of the Previous “Before we proceed with the discussion,
Lesson/s of Presenting New do you remember your previous topic?”
Lesson "Yes, Ma'am."
“So, what was your previous all about?”
(Students are raising their hands.)
“Yes, Marco?”
“Kinds of Angles, Ma'am."

“Alright! The kinds of angles, very good!”

“What are those kinds of angles?”

(Students are raising their hands.)
“Yes, Robi?”
"The kinds of angles are acute, right,
obtuse, straight, reflex and complete
angle, Ma'am."
“Okay, so it seems like you fully
understood your previous topic.”

“Now, let’s have an activity.”

Activity 1: HOLD ME TIGHT

Mechanics: The class will be divided into

four groups. Each group will receive a
marker tied to a yarn, a sheet of paper,
and an assigned illustration. Within each
group, all members will hold the yarn
together and work collaboratively to
recreate the given illustration on their own
sheet of paper. When done, each group
will present their work on their class.

“Please go back to your original seats.

Thank you, class.”
B. Establishing a Purpose for “Before we move forward to our lesson,
the New Lesson do you find our activity easy or difficult?”
“Easy, ma’am”
“Easy. Okay, so with these figures or
illustrations that you recreate are related
to our next topic.”

“Any idea of what would be our topic for

today?” (Students are raising their hands.)

“Yes, Misty?” “I think, properties of angles and lines,

Ma’am”
“Correct. Our topic for today is about
properties of angles and lines.”
“And now, Michelle? Kindly read our
learning objectives.
At the end of the 60-minute period, (at
least 85%) of the learners should be able
to:

1. Define different properties of angle

and line.
2. Identify the angles depending on their
properties on a given figure.
3. Recognize the importance of the
properties of angle in a real-life context.
“Thank you, Michelle!”
C. Presenting ACTIVITY 2: MEASURE ME RIGHT
Examples/Instances of the
New Lesson Mechanics: There are eight papers
posted on the board. Each paper has an
instruction and points written on the back
which the assigned students must

perform.

For example, the second paper may have

three points and instruct the students to
make a supplementary angle (two right

arms.)

“Well done, everyone.”

D. Discussion of Concept #1 “So, our topic for today is about

properties of angles and lines.”

“Let us now delve deeper about these

properties”

“The first illustration of the first group is

called the supplementary angles. Take a
look at your drawings.”

What do you notice?”

“The figure no.1 has two angles, Ma’am.”
“Correct. What else?”
“The sum of the two angles is equal to
180°, Ma’am..
“Very good. Now, what do you think is the
definition of supplementary angles?
(Students are raising their hands.)
“Yes, Luke?”
“I think, the definition of supplementary
angles are a pair of angles that add up to
180°, Ma’am.
“Very good.”

“Let’s move on to the second property which

is complementary angles.”

“Notice your drawing no.2. What do you

think is the definition of complementary
angles?”

“Yes, Charmaine?”
“Complementary angles are a pair of
angles that add up to 90°, Ma’am.”
“Are they complementary angles?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“That is right. We also have third property,
which is the congruent angles.”

“Sandy, what do you think is the definition of

a congruent angles?”
“Congruent angles are angles with equal
measures.”

“Are ∠𝑎 and ∠𝑏 equal in measure?”

“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Then that means?”
“They are congruent angles.”
WEDNESDAY
E. Discussion of Concept #2 “Good job. Now, let’s move on with the next
property which is called the vertical
angles.”

“Take a look at your drawing no. 4”

“Now, what do you think is the definition of a

vertical angles?”

“Yes, James?” “Vertical angles are nonadjacent angles

formed by two intersecting lines.”
“Correct. Also, vertical angles are
congruent. The angles that lie opposite to
each other when two lines intersect”

at E, then ∠VER and ∠TEI are vertical
angles. If ∠VER and ∠TEI are vertical
angles, then m∠VER≅ m∠TEI.

“Do you understand, class?”

“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Very good. Now, how about the next
property? Yes, Jerico?” “Adjacent angles are two coplanar angles
that have common side between them
but have no interior points
in common.”
“Okay. We have the adjacent angles. Take a
look at this.”

∠ADB and ∠BDC are adjacent angles

with common side DB

“Adjacent angles have a common arm

(side) and a common vertex; however, they
do not overlap.”

“Which is the common side here again?”

“Side DB, Ma’am.”
“That is correct. Do you now understand what
adjacent angle is?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
“Very good.”

“We also have the linear pair.”

“Now, Cristy, any idea of what is a linear

pair?” “Linear pair are two angles that are
adjacent and supplementary.”
“Alright, very good.”

“What is adjacent again?” “They share a common side but do not

overlap.”
“How about supplementary?”
“Their measure adds up to180° , Ma’am.”

“Okay, very good. Now let’s move on to the

property of lines. There are two properties of
lines which are the perpendicular and parallel
lines.”

First, we have perpendicular lines.”

“Jerald, what do you notice in this figure

perpendicular is?” (Students will raise their hands.)

“Again, Christian, what is the definition of

perpendicular lines?” “Perpendicular lines are two lines that
intersect and form four right angles.”

“Yes, very good. These are perpendicular

lines. Line m is perpendicular to line n. 𝑚⃡
⊥ 𝑛⃡.”

“How about the last property?”

“Yes, Jerome.”

“Parallel lines are coplanar lines that do not

intersect.”
“That is correct. Line m is parallel to line
n.
F. Developing Mastery ACTIVITY 3: GRAB ME TIGHT
Leading for Formative
Assessment Mechanics: The class will be divided into
two groups: the girls and the boys. Each
group must try to grab a bottle placed
between them. Once they have the bottle,
they can proceed in answering the

G. Finding Practical “Do you understand our lesson, class?”
Applications of concepts and
Skills in Daily Living “How do you think the properties of “Yes, ma’am”
angles and lines are used in real life?”
(Students are raising their hands.)
“Okay, Christoff, what do you think?”
“I think there are a lot of things where the
properties of angles and lines are used,
Ma’am. Mostly carpenters and engineers
use them in building houses and
building.”
“Very good. And, how these properties are
important in our daily lives?”

“Yes, Precious?” “Properties of angles and lines are important

in our daily lives because they help in
creating art and even in playing sports.
Understanding these properties allows us to
make precise measurements, creates
balanced designs and navigate our world
more effectively, Ma’am.”

“Correct. Properties of angles and lines are

fundamental to many aspects of our daily
lives, from architecture, to arts and sports,
they help us measure accurately, design
aesthetically and of course, navigate
effectively.”

H. Making “What are the 6 properties of angles

Generalization/Abstraction again?”
about the lesson (Students are raising their hands.)
“Yes, Timothy?”
“The six properties of angles are
supplementary angle, complementary
angle, congruent angle, vertical angle,
adjacent angle, and linear pair, Ma’am”
“Very good. How about the properties of
line? We have?”
(Students are raising their hands.)
“Yes, Prince?”
“The two properties of lines are the
perpendicular lines and parallel lines,
Ma’am”
“Good job, class! Take note of these for
you to confidently differentiate the
properties of angles and lines.”
