IV. Marketing Plan

Market research

The nation's overall economic development depends heavily on agriculture. In Bangladesh,

agriculture provides a livelihood for more than 60% of the population. As a result, in terms of

maintaining growth and reducing poverty, the agriculture sector in Bangladesh is the most crucial

one. Sustainable improvements in agricultural production are hampered by inadequate nutrient

supplies, the loss of organic matter in soils, and soil erosion. Encouragement of the adoption of

agricultural technologies that rely more heavily on locally available or renewable resources is a

crucial policy intervention for sustainable agriculture given the challenges caused by the overuse

of agrochemicals. One such technology that can lessen the negative effects of agrochemicals is

organic farming (OF), which is regarded by many scientists to be the best form of agriculture in

terms of maximizing cost-effectiveness and minimizing pollution.

The demand for fruits and vegetables rises daily as the population grows. We have planned

to grow these crops organically even though it is much easier and more common to cultivate

vegetables and crops like wheat and rice in India. Since organic gardening is relatively new,

especially in Philippines, and starting an organic farm business is expensive, very few people

consider having an organic farm. Nowadays, people prefer products that are produced using

organic methods due to sudden increases in deadly diseases like cancer. Therefore, one can

make a lot of money from this because the price of organic goods is so low. The main reason why

people choose to eat fruits and vegetables daily is because they are healthy. When it comes to

sales, Filipino government providing too many local markets in every city and villages so, it

became very easy for every farmer to sell their produce. Even, government has set very good

price for vegetables and fruits.

Barriers to entry

Many farmers have agreed to use this method on their homestead because they are

persuaded of the value of organic garden. In our company, we will only use organic techniques to

grow safe vegetables. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides can be avoided in organic agriculture.

A few of the main obstacles to the increased use of organic gardening are:

Basic Problems

Limited Land Holdings:

The shortage of land will be the most common barrier to our business. It is very difficult to

manage much more land property due to high cost, difficulties area management etc. If we

wouldn’t manage enough land, then we will be unable to cultivate enough products for society.

Lack of Capital:

This is one of the major reasons by which our business procedure can be hampered. A

huge amount of capital is needed for starting a business. It would be very difficult to manage

financial support who should provide us with this type of huge amount.

Unavailability of Organic Inputs:

The availability of organic fertilizer in villages has not been kept up with increases in farm

area and farming intensity. If we were unable to manage enough manure, then our farming

process will have hampered because we use manure as our main fertilizer.

Promotion and Advertising Strategy

We would harvest our product when it would have appropriate moisture and would take

our crop/products to the market directly after harvesting so this way, resellers will get attract and

our product will get good profit.

• The best strategy is word of mouth advertising

• The Veg Box website will provide additional marketing information. In addition to its

map and location

• Creating fliers and brochures and posting in community gathering places such as

churches, community centers, farmers’ markets and other environmentally centric

business.

Sale Strategy

The Organic Veg Box has already sold all of its products for the upcoming season with

future plans to add more products in year two and so on. In order to meet these goals, the farmers

and staff will continue to rely on advertising fliers, its online presence and most importantly word

of mouth. The word-of-mouth recommendation from a satisfied member not only generates an

opportunity for repeat business, but also is beneficial in recruiting new members or resellers.

Pricing Strategy

In Philippine, the price of an agricultural product can be either the SRP (Suggested Retail

Price) or the resultant price after government interventions depending upon the product. To

understand the prices which, follow government interventions, we need to understand these very

V. Operational Plan

This section explains the daily operation of our business, including its location,

equipment, personnel and processes.

1. Production

The Organic Veg Box production starts with choosing crops to grow. Next

is preparing the soil and the beds on where those crops will be planted. Then, the

planting of seeds. In this stage, we are going to follow the crop rotation method

where it is a systematic method of deciding what to plant where in your garden

from one season to the next, based on plant groups. Moving plants to a new

location each season improves our garden in two ways. First, it helps keep your

soil healthy and fertile. And another is, it helps manage soil-borne diseases and

soil-dwelling insects. Afterwards, these are going to be monitored over a period of

time until they grow and have fruits. When they are ready to harvest, the harvested

vegetables will be placed in safe and clean storage in order to keep its freshness

and avoid to spoil easily. In terms of packaging and delivery, the purchased

vegetables will be packed carefully and orderly while we only offer delivery

transactions to the residents living at Balanacan, Mogpog and nearby areas of it

due to the limitation to of transportation.

2. Quality control

a. Following fertilization policy.

b. Maintenance of Organic Management.

Land management

Land management is the process of using land resources. Our responsibility

is to use those resources into that way so that maximum output can be obtaining

from farm. We need to consider some important factors like water management,

soil quality, crop protection and crop rotation etc. we have an organic farm so these

factors important to consider.

Water management: Water management is very important factor for land

management. We grow organic vegetables. We have two tube wells for watering

the. We h vegetables have proper water channels those are attached with tube

wells to provide water. We have and both are water pump in the center of field.

Soil management: is another important factor to consider in land

management. Crops growth depend upon soil quality. We need to first check the

quality of soil. Make a sample of these soils and these in the soil lab every year for

better production every year.

Crop protection: Crop protection from weeds, insects, diseases, pests etc.

We have an organic farm, so we need to more concentrate on this factor because

in organic farm it can be difficult to control those crops damaging aspects. So, we

need to identify those areas where damage is start as soon as possible so it is

easy to cure that because in organic farm we do not use chemical herbicides and

insecticides that are easily control those things in quick time, but we use hand

weeding and some biological control to prevent crop from damage. We also use

some chemical that are certified by government that can be used in organic farm.

employees and contractors we will consider and determine exactly what

characteristic and potential they have. Consider what special skills, abilities

and personal traits are required. Additionally make note of any necessary

licenses or special certification which is related to farming and gardening.

As a manager of the business, it is important to write out what the employee

responsibilities will be and who are they will be accountable to. It is very

important to develop an employee handbook, which gives the employee a

solid foundation of what their job is. In giving training, the employees first to

know and became familiar with the practices, protocol, rules and

document but also assists the garden with properly managing the

workforce.

Organic Garden employees should undergo thorough training to

ensure they understand the lay of the land, and proper use of equipment.

Safety is a crucial component when it comes to gardening. Emphasizing the

importance of organic garden safety from the beginning will set the tone of

expectations for employees. Well-trained garden workers should know what

healthy. When it comes to sales, Filipino government providing too many local

markets in every city and villages so, it became very easy for every farmer to sell
