How do we use since?
We often use for, since and how long with the present perfect
simple to talk about ongoing states.

How long have you known each other?

We've known each other since we were at school.
We use since when the action we are refering to extends to the
present, example:

I have know my best friend since 2019.

conozco a mi mejor amigo desde 2019

I have lived in France since two years ago

He vivido en Francia desde hace dos años

We use for to talk about the period of time up to the present,
example: for four years, for two days.

How long have they been playing tennis?

They've been playing tennis for an hour.
They've been playing tennis every Sunday for years.
We use for to express the extend of the duration of an action, it
started in the past and has been happening for an amount of time,
example:

I have been studying for the last three hours

He estado estudiando por las últimas tres horas

I have been in Spain for one week.

He estado en España por una semana
