1. What is the impact of technology to the nursing administration?

The advancements caused by technology has both negative and positive impacts to the nursing
administration we have today. Some of the positive effects it brought was the efficiency and
effectivity in terms of the documentation process and record keeping for the patient profiles where
the healthcare team of the patient may access it wherever they are which however, causes a risk for
security and fraud where other unauthorized party may use the information for their own benefit. It
also helped in more informed decisions because some applications allow patients to access their own
health records, with the help of their healthcare workers, there is a collaboration for knowing the best
and preferred care for the patient. However, to gain these benefits, it must start from allocating costs
for purchasing the needed technology which may be seen as a disadvantage since it is not only a one-
time cost but also needs maintenance for keeping cybersecurity protection. In the end, technology
helped nursing administration upgrade from the mountains of paper works that health care workers
needs to spend more time to rather than attending to their patients’ needs.

2. Why is nursing informatics important in administrative services?

Nursing informatics optimizes the workflows and enhances the communication between the nurses,
consumers and other healthcare providers. It integrates nursing science, computer science and
information science to enable care givers to manage patient care more effectively and efficiently
without having to meet personally all of the time. It shortens the period on working on manual paper
works and increases the time to spend monitoring patients and their well-being. It also aids in
making the nurses more accountable and urges them to comply with monitoring and documentation
more due to its easier accessibility anywhere. It also helps the nursing executives to monitor whether
their nurses are adhering to the standards given by the health care organizations easily.

3. How important is the use of technology and information technology in the advancement of nursing
practice?

Technology and information technology helped nursing become more efficient and digitally
accessible, this means that the data gathered from patients are now accessible through digital gadgets

and websites or applications. Through these researches about improving the nursing practice such as
innovative care or clinical care trials may be backed with data provided that it is consented by the
patients and executives. This will bring advancement not only for easier care but also to increase the
possible nursing interventions given for the comfort and security of the patients.

4. What is the purpose of administration in nursing management?

Administration is important for the efficient delivery of healthcare. They serve as the leaders who
makes sure that there are proper allocations of jobs or assignments, scheduling and nursing to patient
ratios. They make sure that the operations are smooth, safe and follows standards set by the
healthcare organizations. They foster the culture of safe work environment filled with collaboration
and smart decisions intended for the betterment and safety of both the patients and the health workers
under them. They ensure that there is fairness in terms of finances and budgets for maintaining the
workplace and improving the nursing practice.

5. What are the implications of nursing informatics?

The implications of nursing informatics are that with the access it gives to patient records and the
evidence-based care it improves the quality of care given to patients. It enables nurses to collaborate
effectively, coordinating with each other to formulate an effective care plan to work on. With the
technology, it helps in innovating the practice, education, research and administrative nursing. It
increases patient satisfaction by including them and their decisions for their own health.
