WEEKLY LEARNING PLAN

Subject: World History
Content Standard:
 The learners demonstrate an understanding of the interaction between humans and their
environment that led to the development of ancient civilizations, which have shaped the
way of life of the present generation.
Performance Standard:
 The learners are able to develop a proposal project that promotes the conservation and
preservation of the legacies of ancient civilizations in the world for the present and future
generations.
Learning Competency:
 Explain the way of living of the first humans in the world (AP8HSK-le-5)
 Examine how culture developed during the prehistoric era (AP8HSK-if-6)
Objectives:
I can
 Explain the way of living of life of the first humans in the world;
 Describe how culture developed during the prehistoric era; and
 Appreciate the cultures during the prehistoric era

Learning Materials:
 TV screen, Laptop, First Light App E-book Cellphone, Pictures
Lesson Proper
Introduction  Let the learners arrange the jumbled letters to form words related to the
topic. Use the picture as a clue in order to complete this activity.
 Choose one of the students to recite their answer.
 Ask students to share their thoughts and observations about the pictures
given.

Instruction
Explain the way of living of the first humans in the world (AP8HSK-le-5)
Using PPT presentation:

o Ask the students what they know about the word "prehistory.".
o Identify the stages of early humans and their characteristics.
o Ask the students about their assumptions about how the first humans lived
and survived in the past.
o Explain briefly how the first humans lived in the world.
o Ask the students to imagine themselves living during ancient times and
answer the following question given by the teacher:

1) In what ways can you survive during the ancient period?


2) How can you deal with the challenges during the ancient times?

Examine how culture developed during the prehistoric era (AP8HSK-if-6)

o Describe how culture developed during the prehistoric era.


o Have the students read in chorus the early stages in the PowerPoint
Presentation.
o Describe how culture developed during the prehistoric era.
o Have the students read in chorus the early stages of the PowerPoint
presentation.
o Conduct a class discussion on the importance of understanding prehistoric
cultures.
o Share interesting facts about the prehistoric era to spark curiosity among
students.
o Show the closing video clip from the First Light App, and
o Ask the students how they value and appreciate the cultures of the
prehistoric era.

Integration Activities

Group Activity
Early Humans Task Cards.

o Group the class into five groups. Each group needs to choose
their own leader.
o The leaders need to go in front and choose one of the five cards.
Each card has a task that they need to do.
o Each group will share their output with the class.

Activity

Choose Me, Open the Door!


o Students need to choose one of the doors that flash on the
PowerPoint presentation.
o Each colorful door has a corresponding question that the students
must answer.

Quiz

o Students will access the pre-history Google forms found in the


First Light App.
o If the form is not available, the students will prepare a ½
lengthwise sheet of paper as their answer sheet, and questions
will flash on a TV screen.

Performance Task

Timeline- Making (PT)


o Students will create a timeline that highlights how a prehistoric
tool has changed and improved.
o Their goal is to identify modern tools that can be traced back to
prehistoric times.
o Afterwards, the students will answer the following questions given
and place them on A4-sized bond paper.
o Below is the rubric for the performance task:
Creativity - 20%
Organization - 15%
Concept/Ideas - 5%
