DISCIPLINE

 Students must make sure they enter the school premises before 8:40 am in
the morning and again before 1:35 pm in the afternoon. Skipping classes,
leaving school grounds, or unauthorised absence is not allowed.

 Students need to make sure that they complete all their classwork,
homework, projects, etc. on time and submit it within the submission dates
give to them.

 Engaging in disruptive or disrespectful behaviour during assemblies, events, or


ceremonies is unacceptable.
 Students must be well groomed at all times when in the school premises. This
includes clean and well-kept hair (short hair for boys and for girls anything
longer than shoulder length needs to be tied or plaited), NO facial hair for
boys in Class XI and above (Class X and below should trim their facial hair), and
overall hygiene to be maintained. Fancy hairstyles, unnatural hair colours,
jewellery, nail polish, and make-up are not permitted. No adjusting or resizing
of the provided uniform shall be permitted. Boy’s shirts must be tucked in at
all times. They must comply with the proper uniform code as per their time
table. All students must wear their ID cards visibly at all times while in the
school premises.
 Failure to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, or sanitation in personal or shared
space is not acceptable. Any kind of vandalism, damage to school property, or
theft, writing or scribbling or otherwise defacing school property including
class and washroom walls, benches, chairs and other fixtures will not be
tolerated.
 Cheating, plagiarism, or academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
 Unauthorised use of school facilities, resources, or technology is prohibited.
Inappropriate use of social media, including cyberbullying, will lead to serious
consequences.
 Students must respect all school staff, teachers, and fellow students at all
times. Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind is strictly prohibited.
Inappropriate physical contact, invasion of personal space, or harassment is
unacceptable. Disruptive behaviour that interferes with learning, engaging in
physical altercations or fights, use of inappropriate language, or gestures, will
result in disciplinary action.

 Prefects and other members of the school’s Prefectorial Board are responsible
for discipline and order in the day to day activities, assemblies and other
events organised in the school.
 Violation of safety rules, procedures, or protocols will result in disciplinary
action. Failure to comply with directives, instructions, or orders from school
staff is unacceptable.
 Failure to follow rules and regulations related to school transportation will
lead to severe consequences.

 Students should not take any tuition from the school’s teachers without prior
permission of the Principal.

 Students are accountable to the school authorities not only for their conduct
in the school, but also for their general behaviour outside the school premises.
Any reported or observed objectionable conduct outside the school premises
on part of the students would make them liable for disciplinary action. They
are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, honesty, and ethical
behaviour.

 Any student who is persistently insubordinate, repeatedly and wilfully


mischievous, is guilty of malpractices in examination or has committed an act
of serious indiscipline and who in the opinion of the Principal, has a disruptive
influence on his / her fellow pupils shall be struck off the rolls of the school.
The removal may be temporary or permanent depending on the gravity of the
offence committed.

 Continuous or repeated violation of disciplinary guidelines will lead to


progressive disciplinary actions, including fines, suspension or expulsion.
 The School has a ‘No Tolerance’ policy for alcohol, drugs and smoking. Any
student found violating this policy will be expelled from school.

 Parents / Guardians should make themselves available when their presence is


requested by either the Principal or teachers.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

 Leave of absence may be granted at the discretion of the Principal. A written


application well in advance, to the Principal, signed by only the Parents /
Guardians will be accepted. Leave of absence cannot be taken without prior
approval from the Principal.
 If a student is absent for medical reasons, the Principal must be immediately
informed, preferably in writing if not, verbally. A medical certificate from a
Registered Medical Practitioner must be submitted at the time of re-joining
school. The Student’s Leave Record shall be updated accordingly.
 Absence for weddings, feasts or celebrations is not permitted.
 Every student is expected to be present on the occasion of Republic Day and
Independence Day.
 All students are expected to attend School on the first day of reopening after
each vacation / break.
 The attendance roll will be called out at the beginning of the class and also
after lunch break. Those not in class will be marked absent for the entire day.
 In case the student takes a half day, the parents need to intimate the teacher in
writing with a valid reason for the same.

SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

 Every student is expected to attend School Assembly and should be in school 5


minutes before the assembly bell at 08:40hrs.
 Irregular attendance, late arrival, unjustified and unexplained absences will
invite disciplinary action, at the discretion of the Principal.

EXAMINATIONS AND PROMOTIONS

 Assessments / evaluations will be as per Central Board of Secondary Education


(CBSE), New Delhi.
 Within the parameters prescribed, there will be two Summative Assessments;
one in September and the other in March, besides Formative Assessments.
Progress Report will be issued after each evaluation.
 Promotion to the next class will be based on overall performance throughout
the academic year. Parents / Guardians should therefore, ensure that their
wards attend all the assessments.
 If a pupil is absent for any test except on medical grounds, he or she will be
considered as failed and no separate test will be conducted. Medical Certificate
from a Registered Medical Practitioner must be produced to justify absence
from an examination.
 The Student’s Progress Card will be withheld in case of delay in payment of
School fees.
 Absence from all subject examinations will result in the total loss of marks.
Absence from any one or more subjects would entail in a loss of marks for
those subjects.
 GRADING: To pass in a subject, a student should obtain a passing grade
(minimum “D” grade) in each subject. Marks of both the Formative and
Summative assessment will be reckoned for final results. If a student fails to
achieve “D” grade in each subject, he / she may fail to progress ahead.

PAYMENT OF FEES

 All fees are to be paid in advance by the 15 th of each month failing which a
student is liable to pay late fee at 10% of the total dues per month.
 NO student will be allowed to appear for any examination unless dues, up to
the month of the examination are paid.
 Day Scholar Fees may be paid in advance by the 15 th of each month either by
cheque into the Extension Counter, Bank of India, Nhava branch. Boarders
however, will pay their fees by cheque to the School Office.

If the fee is paid online, the parent should send a copy of payment to the
respective class teacher along with a copy to the Admin Officer in the School
office.

ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL

 The school will be open for admission for all eligible students without any
distinction of caste, creed, religion or place of birth.
 The minimum age of admission will be as prescribed by the Maharashtra State
Government from time to time.
 A student who has attended any recognised school cannot be admitted
without a Leaving Certificate from the previous school attended. In the case of
students from Schools outside Maharashtra State, the Education Officer of the
State from which they have come must countersign the Leaving Certificate.
 A student will have to produce an official Birth Certificate in support of the
date of birth entered in the Admission Form at the time of joining.
 Students, who remain absent without prior notice for more than a month, will
be struck off the rolls and will not be readmitted.
 School Leaving Certificate will be denied to those who have not paid their fees
and other dues.

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

 The school encourages pupils to take part in activities and participate in


selected Interschool, State and National level competitions and tournaments.
 Games and sports are organised and played on Inter House basis.
 Facilities for playing Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Pickleball,
Badminton, Table Tennis, Dodge ball, Athletics, Gymnastics, Karate and
Swimming are available.
 Excursions and Educational trips are organised from time to time.
 Curricular activities include Debates, Elocution, Public Speaking, Dramatics,
Playing of Band Instruments, Classical Dancing and Singing.
 The School also participates in the ‘International Award for Young People’
 The School Management is committed to being Secular, and therefore does not
celebrate any religious holiday.

LIBRARY RULES

 The library will be kept open during the day when school is in session. LIBSYS
System of Library software has been installed and the issue of books must be
specifically entered as a transaction therein.

 NO Book can be taken out of the Library without the Librarian registering the
transaction.

 Maximum Number of Books that can be issued will be as follows: -


a. Class VII to IX – one book per child for seven days.
b. Class X to XII – two books per child for seven days.

 Reference Books will not be taken out of the Library.

 Book(s) can only be retained for a period of seven days, but can be renewed
for a further period of seven days.

 Students are liable to pay a fine of Rs. 5/- per day for late return of books.

 Non-payment of fines imposed in accordance with the above Rules or


disorderly conduct by students in the Library is a grounds for suspension from
the use of the Library.

RECOMMENDATION TO PARENTS

Dear Parents
Since you have entrusted your child to our care for his / her all round
development, we need your support and collaboration. Only on the assurance of
such collaboration can we hope to achieve our Goal. Communication is crucial to
any collaboration and therefore, parents need to understand that they cannot
dictate to the Management under what conditions it will admit or retain students
in the school, provided such conditions are in conformity with the Rules and
Regulations of the appropriate governing authority issued from time to time.
Parents / Guardians are requested not to enter classrooms or talk to teachers
when they are engaged in class. Any observation or complaints should be made
directly to the Principal in writing. The teachers will not entertain anybody during
school hours without written permission from the Principal.
While communicating with the Principal, kindly mention in your letter, the Class,
Division and G.R. Number of your child.
Applications for ‘Leave of Absence’ must be made in advance, in writing, by only
the Parents, and should not be for trivial reasons. In the case of a temporary
absence or emergent recall for attending a domestic emergency, a written
application will be made to the Principal and then only, can the child be taken out
of the school premises with a valid Gate Pass.
Parents and Guardians should go through and sign the remarks and notes sent by
the teacher or Principal.
The Parents / Guardians are required to personally sign the student’s Progress
Card
The school will remain closed on Sundays, 2 nd and 4th Saturdays and Gazetted
Holidays as per LKM School fixtures.
School will function from Monday to Saturday.
