LITERATURE
1. Being the leader of Red Indians, Chief Seattle and his fellow men had high regard for the
environment and they were grateful to mother nature for being a sympathizer and
protecting them from various threats. In his speech, Chief Seattle highlighted the
importance of conserving nature. Imagine yourself to be the leader of your class and write
a speech of about (300 to 400 words) on how Chief Seattle’s concern for nature still holds
relevance in the 21st century in order to create awareness among your friends. Also,
mention the consequences of exploiting nature and provide some realistic solutions to the
problem. You may quote some renowned personalities or environmentalists to support
your answer.

2. Write an essay of about 400 words on the topic:

How does Shakespeare make Antonio stand out as a dignified figure who suffers from an
inner sadness? Do you think this inner sadness is a whim or an underlying mystery?
Explain with plausible reasons. Also elaborate how and why Antonio offers to help
Bassanio.

Kindly follow the following format for the Literature Project:

i. Use a simple adapter to bind both the project topics together. Do not bind them
separately.
ii. Protect the project with an OHP sheet on both ends.
iii. Cover page must contain medium-sized, center-aligned, coloured pictures related to the
topics, and must contain the following details on the ‘bottom right-hand side’ corner:

idea/sub-topic
vii. Last Page: References- elaborate URLs of the reference/resource links and name of the
book, author and publisher in case of bibliography

• Marks will be awarded for originality of content, deeper levels of reflection on character
analysis and intriguing perspectives on the student. Lifting entirely from the school
notes or any other reference material is strictly discouraged.
