Krones single-end bottle washers.
The Lavatec E3 is the machine in this
series with the best ability to con-
form. For its heating and caustic
zones can be combined with such
flexibility that they can cover a spec-
trum of 15,000 to 120,000 bottles per
hour. Regardless of which variant
you decide on: When it comes to
water and energy consumption the
Lavatec E3 will definitely be frugal.
This is ensured by, for example, the
demand-controlled water manage-
ment and the insulation of the hot
caustic from the other water zones.
For all of the variants on the small
Lavatec have one thing in common:
They can meet even the greatest

Method of operation
Once they are fed into the machines,
the bottles pass through a number of
different treatment zones: In the pre-
soaking area, they are firstly heated
and basic contamination is removed.
They then pass through the caustic
immersion tanks to completely wash
away any dirt and label residues.
To ensure that all of the caustic
and other residues are completely
removed when the bottles are dis-
charged from the machine, they are
finally sprayed with fresh water. To
keep the consumption low here, the
inflowing quantity of water is regu-
lated to suit the requirements and
then used again in other machine
sections. In accordance with the sin-
gle-end principle, the infeed and
discharge of the Lavatec E3 are on
the same side of the machine. Its
“clean-design” configuration guaran-
tees a high level of microbiological
safety.

Every drop counts

Efficient water control

The water enters the machine in the
opposite direction to the bottle flow:
The fresh water is only used for rins-
ing the bottles. It then flows in a cas-
cade-like fashion through the individ-
ual post-treatment zones.
In the warm-water zone, the water
management programme automati-
cally determines the further progres-
sion: Depending on what is currently
needed, the water either flows into
the post-caustic section to reduce
the alkalinity there. Or it is used to
refresh the pre-treatment section.

Needs-based fresh water supply

To keep consumption as low as pos-
sible, the supplying of fresh water is
automatically adjusted to the current
demand. If the machine is stopped, a
control valve immediately shuts off
the supply.

Consume less, achieve more

Separate hot-caustic zone

The machine is designed based on the
principle of “hot at the bottom and
cold at the top”. For the hot caustic is
in the bottom part of the machine and
the other water zones are arranged
above it. A thermal shock and the di-
vided side wall protect the two areas
against heat bridges - and the
Lavatec E3 against expensive energy
losses.

signed to allow the caustic to flow
through the machine extremely effec-
tively. This results in three advantages:

Interior cleaning
Rotating spraying nozzles clean the
bottle from different angles of inci-
dence. This guarantees that the com-
plete interior is evenly cleaned.

Reliable and low-noise

conveyor belt. At the transfer point, a
so-called “infeed finger” raises them
and pushes them precisely into the
bottle pocket.
