 PROCUREMENT OF RAW MATERIALS

In the manufacturing process polypropylene homopolymer (plastic been) ,
stainless steel round bars, forging, hardware (nuts & bolts), gaskets, paints
and also packing materials. We purchase all the raw materials from the
approved suppliers.

 QUALITY ASSURANCE
All raw materials are checked by Internal Quality Assurance Department
prior to infusion into the manufacturing process. For example, when they
receive steel castings and rods, it is checked and then passed on to stores
with an “INWARD PASSED” sign and stamp, if it is rejected it is sent back
to the supplier with a G.I.R. note.

7
 MOLDING
After quality assurance raw material is ready to use. Polypropylene
homopolymer (plastic been) is being mold in plastic infection molding
machine.

 Molding Process In Detail
Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts by
injecting material into a mold. Injection molding can be performed with
a host of materials mainly including metals ,glasses, elastomers,
confections, and most commonly thermoplastic and thermosetting
polymers. Material for the part is fed into a heated barrel, mixed, and
forced into a mold cavity, where it cools and hardens to the
configuration of the cavity.

During this process, the material is melted by heat and pressure. The
molten plastic is then injected into the mold very quickly and the
buildup of pressure packs and holds the material. The amount of
material that is injected is referred to as the shot. The injection time is
difficult to calculate accurately due to the complex and changing flow of
the molten plastic into the mold. However, the injection time can be
estimated by the shot volume, injection pressure, and injection power.

Adopt injection machine under the injection pressure of 40-60bar, the

temperature of melting being injected between upper die bodies (1) and
lower mold body (2) at 200 ℃ of-270 ℃ of liquid plastics; Treat 10-40
second, upper die body (1) is separated with lower mold body (2), obtain
this ball valve made of plastic semi-finished product;

Temperature is being use for mold plastic been was between 200°C to
250°C to cylinder by thermocouple. Thermocouple was joined with
ceramic band which is join around the cylinder.

Maintaining temp. as shape of body .Body would be 1 to 4 inch.

12
By Injection machine there was injection pressure of 40-60bar, Treat 10-
40 second, upper die body (1) is separated with lower mold body (2),
obtain this ball valve made of plastic semi-finished product.

After all process of molding , molded bodies and pieces was stored in
water for cooling.

Then parts are going to machining department for shaping, cutting, and
finishing.

After the machining process all parts are going in assembly department
for fitting properly.

After all process the fitted valves is going to be check by testing

machinery.

In testing ,there is two type of testing available.

Hydraulic testing was done there in other department.

After fully checking if valves is ready for packing ,it is being packed
with plastic and being ready for delivery by order amount from client.

13
 Machining

The machining process designed for precisely machining relatively hard

materials. A lathe is a tool that rotates the work piece on its axis to
perform various operations such as cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling,
or deformation, facing, turning, with tools that are applied to the work
piece to create an object with symmetry about an axis of rotation. They
were originally designed to machine metals; however, with the advent of
plastics and other materials, and with their inherent versatility, they are
used in a wide range of applications, and a broad range of materials.

14
 Assembly
Drilling is a material-removing or cutting process in which the tool uses
a drill bit to cut a hole of circular cross-section in solid materials. This is
the most common machining process, one estimate is that 75% of all
metal cutting material removed comes from the drilling operation.

15
 Testing
The valve body is filled with the testing fluid at the specified
temperature. The specified pressure is applied for the specified length of
time (usually at least 1 minute).

 Products / Types of Valves

 Sight Flow Indicator

A sight flow indicator gives the operator a window to observe how a

process fluid moves through the pipeline. At a basic level, how
a sight flow indicator works is simple: just look through the window
to observe the flow in a pipeline.

 Two piece Ball Valve

Two-piece ball valves are some of the most common ball valves used.
The vast majority of ball valves are 2-way and manually operated
with a lever. The lever is in line with pipe when the valve is opened.
In closed position, the handle is perpendicular to the pipe. The ball
valve flow direction is simply from the input to the output for a 2-
way valve.

 K-Type Valve

In K-type design company has removed all the parts which

damage the valve and disturb the production of plant.

The use of the K-type Ball Valve is very easy, smooth and
maintenance free.

If your chemical production temperature is less than 100 C'

and you use the casting lined Ball valves which is very
costly. Instead of that you can use the. K-type PP ball Valves
with FEP / PFA Lined Ball and spindle. Company assure the
life of K-type PP ball Valves will same as casting lined Ball
Valves. So, this decision may be cost effective.

17
 Diaphragm Valve

Diaphragm valves consists of a valve body with two or more ports, an

elastomeric diaphragm, and a "weir or saddle" or seat upon which the
diaphragm closes the valve. The valve body may be constructed from
plastic, metal, wood or other materials depending on the intended use

 MS Ball Valve

A ball valve is a shut off valve that controls the flow of a liquid or gas by means of
a rotary ball having a bore. By rotating the ball a quarter turn (90 degrees) around
its axis, the medium can flow through or is blocked.

 Conclusion

In this Summer Industrial Internship I learn so many things about

Industry. I got so much information about machinery, products,
and other such things related to industry. I like to go in this type of
company as engineer to give my best and make industry more
productive .I inspire to take step forward in this type of technical
line.

Thank You
