Petition Regarding Outstanding Form Fee Payment for Student

Parliamentary Council Positions

Distinguished Press Men,

We, the concerned members of the Student Union Government, are

using this medium to bring to your attention a matter of utmost

importance regarding the top three officers of the 43rd Student

Parliamentary Council. It has come to our notice that Senate

President Sen Durojaye Deborah Oluwakemisola, Deputy Senate

President Adetoye Bilal Adeyomi, and the Senate Clerk, Irimoren

Christianah Beloved, are yet to pay their required form fees to

STUDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION SELECO, and there seems to

be no intention from their end to fulfill this obligation.

As you are well aware, the payment of form fees is a fundamental

requirement for candidates aspiring to hold positions within the

Student Union Government in Student Parliamentary Council. This

rule ensures fairness, transparency, and accountability in the

electoral process. Failure to adhere to this requirement not only

undermines the integrity of the council but also sets a dangerous

precedent for future elections.

We strongly believe that individuals who have not fulfilled the basic

requirements of candidacy should not be entitled to hold such

prestigious positions within our student governance structure. It is

imperative that all members of the council lead by example and

abide by the rules and regulations set forth by SELECO.

Therefore, we urge you, as representatives of the press, to

investigate this matter thoroughly and bring it to the attention of

the wider student body. Transparency and accountability are vital

pillars of our democracy, and it is essential that the actions of our

student leaders reflect these values.

We trust that you will handle this matter with the utmost

professionalism and diligence. Thank you for your attention to this

pressing issue.

Yours Sincerely,

STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVES
