SUNDAY REFLECTION
August 27, 2023

Our gospel reading comes from Matthew 16:13-20, and it informs us who Jesus
is. This is an important message for us because it demonstrates the depth of our faith.
There were significant lessons for us to learn from Jesus and his followers'
conversation. The message from Matthew 16:13-20 is wonderful. It refers to Jesus as
the one and only Messiah who saved and will continue to save us all from hell. He is
the rock on which Peter is leaning upon. He is the supreme authority over all of us.
He is the beginning, and the end. He will rule for all eternity, and even if we fade
away, He will remain.

Today's world is in total chaos. People of all races, ethnicities, and religions are
dispersed across nations. Different cultures, various beliefs, and, of course, different
religious perspectives. Despite this difference, we continue to stand on the same rock.
It is Christ Jesus, the one Messiah and world ruler. When it comes to Christianity,
no matter how far apart or diverse people are, we all share the same Messiah. The
church of Jesus is where people gather to pray and seek God's blessings and guidance.

Matthew 16:13-20 reminds us that no matter how difficult life gets, we always
have a rock to lean on. We must lean on Jesus, who is the most powerful pillar that
nothing can break. If we are weak now, ask him for help, and he will be there for you.
In every problem we encounter, Jesus is the only help we have. So, whatever you do,
let Him take charge of your life.
