A coordinating conjunction is a word that joins two elements of equal


grammatical rank and syntactic importance. They can join two verbs, two nouns, two
adjectives, phrases or two independent clauses. The seven coordinating conjunctions
are for, and, nor, but, or, yet and so.

Examples:
I go to the library, for I love to read.
My son loves to read and write.
Andy cannot be a doctor nor he can be a lawyer.
I like swimming but I am not a good swimmer.
You can eat your cake with a spoon or fork.
He says nice words, yet you don’t trust him.
It was cold outside so she put on a sweater.

3. Stella ate banana, apple.
4. Miguel doesn’t like football, he is very skillful at it.
