Claroty Secure Remote Access (SRA)
Core to The Claroty Platform, Claroty Secure Remote Access (SRA) provides simple, secure, controlled access to
operational technology (OT) environments for remote users – including employees, contractors, third-party vendors, and
auditors, among others – while enabling customers to safeguard these environments from threats posed by unmanaged
and unmonitored remote access. SRA achieves this by:
• Enabling seamless definition and enforcement of granular role-, policy-, and user-based access and administrative
controls in accordance with Least Privilege and Zero Trust security principles;
• Offering live, over-the-shoulder monitoring capabilities and full-length video recordings for all remote sessions;
• Supporting remote incident detection, investigation, and responsible capabilities that enable customers to adapt
their incident management function for a remote or distributed workforce;
• Providing a single, secure, and clientless interface through which all remote users connect prior to performing
support, response and remediation efforts, audits, and all manner of related activities within OT environments.
SRA has a two-tier, distributed architecture that is highly flexible and purpose-built for OT environments. This architecture
includes the following two components – each of which can be deployed as either a physical or virtual appliance:
• SRA Secure Access Center (SAC): Typically based at the enterprise-level, the SRA SAC is an entity that allows
users to see an aggregate picture of all sites in which SRA is deployed, manage and control those sites, and create
remote sessions at those sites.
• SRA Site Units: An SRA Site unit is an entity that allows users to create local sessions to target servers and
manage remote access at the site level without initiating a session from the SAC or having connectivity to the SAC.
In the unlikely event that the SAC is down, each SRA Site unit can operate independently and allow users to
directly access it for connecting to target servers, viewing session recordings, and uploading/downloading files.
Generally speaking, all SRA deployments must include at least one SRA SAC and one SRA Site unit.
