SITUATION 1: Inbound Tour

Student A: You are planning to go on a vacation in Viet Nam. You go to the Planet Travel
Agency to book an inbound tour. Ask a staff some information you would like to know about
the tour you are interested in.

Suggestions:

2. The inclusions of the tour
3. The exclusions of the tour
4. The itinerary of the tour

Student B: You are a staff of the Planet Travel Agency. You provide some tour information for
your guest.

SITUATION 2: Outbound Tour

Student A: You are planning to go on a vacation in a foreign country. You go to the Planet
Travel Agency to book an outbound tour. Ask the staff about the information you would like to
know about the tour you are interested in.

3. The exclusions of the tour
4. The itinerary of the tour

Student B: You are the staff of Planet Travel Agency. You provide the tour information for your
guest.

TOPIC 2: OFFERING ADVICES

SITUATION 1: Student A: you are working for a travel company (build up your company’s name).
When you are on duty, a customer calls to ask about a tour to......................... Answer the phone and
consider the following points in your conversation:
- Starting the call;
- Checking and confirming;
- Listening attentively;
- Promising action;
- Finishing the call.
The offering advices:

- Destination
- Accommodation
- Activities available
- How to get there
- Best time to go

There are 2 types of tour: 1 day tour or 2/3 days tour (build up the tour’s information)

Student B: you are looking for the tour for:

- Relaxing after your final exam


- Travelling with close friend(s)
- Enjoying your dream life after winning a lottery ticket

Ask student A some needed information about the place where you want to go. Your inquiries should be
about: time; hotel; sightseeing tour; price; transportation; …

SITUATION 2: As you are changing the role, please choose another tour.
Topic 3: MAKING A SURVEY ON TOURISM/TRAVELLING
Situation 1: Taking a travelling survey on the street
Student A: You are an employee of ABC travel agency who is looking for a potential customer.
You give student B a survey to find out his or her interest in travelling. Give Student B a voucher
as reward.
You should ask student B some questions to find out:
-His/her name, age, gender
- Favorite travel destinations
- The travel budget
-The suitable time for travelling
-He or she chooses travelling with a group or alone and why
Student B: You are walking outside and student A comes to you to ask you for filling out a
survey. You ask student A to explain more and decide later to help Student A by answering some
questions. You can make up your personal information.
Situation 2: Taking a traveling survey in the office
Student A: You are invited to come to ABC travel agency and filling out a survey then get a
voucher or coupon for your future holiday trip. You can make up your personal information.
Student B: You are an employee of ABC travel agency who is looking for a potential customer.
You welcome student A to visit the company and give student A a survey to find out his or her
interest in travelling. Give Student A a voucher as reward.
You should ask student A some questions to find out:
-His/her name, age, gender
- Favorite travel destinations
- The travel budget
-The suitable time for travelling
-He or she chooses travelling with a group or alone and why

Topic 4: SHARING CUSTOMS DURING TRAVELLING TIME


Situation 1: Sharing Vietnamese customs with a foreign friend

Student A: You are a foreigner who has been to Vietnam for a first time. Ask student B about
some Vietnamese customs and share the custom from your chosen country.

- Greeting – Introduce yourself


- Sharing customs (Ex: food, traffic, music, holiday…)
o When & where the custom started
o How to follow the custom
- Share your feeling or opinion about the customs

Student B: You are a Vietnamese. You invite student A to your house and share 3 popular
customs in Vietnam then ask student A some information about the custom in his or her country
to see how different those customs are from yours.

customs in Vietnam then ask student B some information about the custom in his or her country
to see how different those customs are from yours.

Topic 5: CURRENT TRENDS IN THE SOCIETY


Student A: You discuss about the trends that are taken the most concentration in the society and
share your feeling or opinion about that.
For example: It could be about:
- Life style or something new on apps such as Facebook, Instagram…
- Where that trend started
- When that trend started
- Who created that trend
- How do people follow that trend
- Why is that trend so popular or why you like it.
Student B: You show that you agree or disagree with student A on the customs and tell the
reason for your choice. Share with student A about the trend you like.

reason for your choice. Share with student B about the trend you like.
