DISTRIBUTION: STRICTLY FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY

Developing and adhering to a solid waste management policy within our school grounds necessitates active
engagement and collaboration of all stakeholders, including students, faculty, parents, and all community members.
This initiative is fundamentally grounded in our collective responsibility to uphold environmental stewardship,
protect public health, and foster a culture of sustainability within our educational institution. Through efforts, we
aim to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, facilitate knowledge-sharing on sustainable waste
management practices, and contribute to the socioeconomic well-being of our local community through resource
conservation and the promotion of green initiatives. This movement underscores our unwavering commitment to
maintaining a clean, sustainable, and conducive learning environment for all members of our school community.

Objectives:
 To minimize the generation of solid waste within the campus premises.
 To promote the segregation, recycling, and proper disposal of solid waste materials.
 To raise awareness among pupils/students about the importance of environmental conservation and waste
reduction.

Responsibilities:

Pupils/Students: It is the responsibility of students to actively participate in waste reduction efforts by following the
guidelines outlined in this policy, including proper waste segregation and disposal.

Teachers/Staff: Teachers and staff members are tasked with providing guidance and support to students in
implementing solid waste management practices within the school premises.

Parents: They are encouraged to educate their children about the significance of environmental conservation and
monitor their compliance with the school's waste management policy. Additionally, to actively participate in any
eco-friendly initiatives or programs implemented by the school.

materials like paper, plastic, glass, and aluminum. Educational campaigns will raise awareness about recycling.

options will be promoted, and water refill stations will be installed.

4. Proper Disposal of Hazardous Waste: Hazardous materials will be collected separately and disposed of safely
according to regulations. Specialized containers will be provided for storage.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation: Regular waste audits and stakeholder feedback will assess policy effectiveness.
Adjustments will be made as needed.

6. Community Engagement: Parents, local authorities, and stakeholders will be engaged through cleanup drives and
workshops on waste management.

7. Enforcement and Accountability: Compliance will be ensured through inspections and awareness campaigns.
Incentives may be provided for positive behavior.

8. Continuous Improvement: Regular reviews will identify areas for enhancement to ensure effective waste
management practices are maintained.

Enforcement:

 Violations of the solid waste management policy may result in disciplinary action, including warnings,
fines, or other appropriate measures as determined by the administration.
 Repeat offenders may face more severe disciplinary consequences, including cleaning the school premises
or as determined by the QECI administration.

This policy will be subject to periodic review and revision as necessary to ensure its effectiveness in achieving the
objectives of solid waste management at QEC.

By adhering to the guidelines outlined in this policy, students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders of Quezonian
