LESSON 3: READING
I. OBJECTIVES
- By the end of this lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Knowledge
- Identify the general ideas and specific information by reading the article
- Gain vocabulary to talk about becoming independent
- Develop the language and ideas in the reading
2. Core competences
- Develop communication skills and creativity;
- Be collaborative and supportive in pair work and teamwork;
- Actively join in class activities.

Aims: Activate background knowledge about the topic and interest in
it.

Activity 1: Vocabulary (5 mins)
Aims: Recognize the meanings of the words through from
teachers’ explanation.
- Gives vocabulary and explains the Vietnamese meaning.
- Requires Ss to read the reading text's sentences that involve the
previously learned vocabulary.
- Calls randomly some Ss to read aloud the new words and gives
feedback.
