1. Subject: I am promoting Day of Play with the Children’s Discovery Museum through the Boys $
Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal.

2. Key Ideas: Anyone ages 5-18 years of age are welcome to come to this event to have a day of
fun who is in the club.

· Who?
· This involves any boy or girl that is in the club and wants to go to the Discovery Museum from
10 a.m.- 3 p.m. and be supervised by a professionally trained staff.

· What?
· This is an event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Children’s Discovery Museum. It is a fun and safe
place for kids to have a great time at an affordable price. It lets kids have the opportunity to be
engaged in a day of fun.

· Where?
· The Children’s Discovery Museum, which is in Uptown Circle in Normal.

· When?
· It is on September 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

· Why?
· It gives boys and girls ages 5-18 years of age who are in the club a chance to explore and
interact with other kids who are in the club. It is a free event in uptown normal and gives a chance
to give kids a fun activity at such a low cost.

· Benefits
o This promotion benefits the organization key community by providing activities for
kids who need it the most. The mission of the club is to empower all young people to be
productive and caring people. By doing activities like this, it helps kids by serving the
academic, emotional, cultural, and social needs of youth ages 5-18 years of age.

· Quote

3. Objectives: What are your measurable objectives for communication? What are you trying to
accomplish in regard to communicating about this newsworthy element? Please include 2-3
objectives.
● One objective is increasing engagement. One of my goals is to get more people engaged
with this event and have a lot of people show up for their benefit. I would try to increase
these numbers over a certain period of time.
● Another objective is to enhance the formation of this event and clarify information about
it so people are not confused about the information on the event.
● The last objective is to expand the reach of this event to more people. Whether it is by
making flyers about the event or posting on social media.

4. Key Publics (description) : I am trying to reach this event to every kid who is in the Boys & Girls
Club of Bloomington-Normal within the ages 5-18 years of age who want to go to the Children’s
Discovery Museum and have a day of fun.

· Demographics: Any boy or girl in the age range of 5-18 years or parent or guardian that
wants to attend with their children, any race, children of all ages, low-middle income level

· Psychographics: Parental involvement, community-minded, diversity and inclusion,


creativity and curiosity.

5. Angle of promotion: Children of all ages who are in the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-
Normal can get hand-on learning experiences, playful exploration, age-appropriate activities, and
social interaction for a low price.

6. Deadline/Timing: This event is on the 23 of September in the year 2023. I would say I can keep
promoting until the event starts at 10 a.m. I have roughly a week to keep promoting this event to the people in
the Boys and Girls club of Bloomington-Normal.
