Topic: People say that a country will benefit greatly if its students study abroad.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The impact of studying oversea on the prosperity of a mother nation has been a
controversial topic. Personally, I partly agree with this statement that country can
derive tremendous value from those pursuing education of international
environment.
Firstly, in most circumstances, overseas students contribute enormously benefit
to economic growth of their homeland. On account of understanding cutting-edge
technology and gathering advanced knowledge, many of those have become
intellectual human resources for the development of their country.Therefore,
they foster the commodity trading business and diplomacy when globalization is
increasing. In addition, overseas students can boost research process of their
country. On top of that the government do not have to spend tons of money for
investing scientific research. For instance, the US has approximately 8.000
students per year from abroad to settle, so that they do not waste a lot of money
for innovations.
On the other hand, the phenomenon called brain drain could occour in many
nations, especially in developing countries. When many international students opt
to emigrate to the countries where they have been studying. The reasons for this
composed of career advancement, opportunities and the higher standard of living
in developed countries. According to statistics, there are nearly 75% overseas
students do not want to back their home in Vietnam. Consequently, the
developing countries have increasingly shortage of skilled labour as they use their
knowledge and experiment to benefit other nations such as US, UK.
In conclusion, while there many significant benefits that overseas students bring
to their country like gaining stream of knowledge, enhancing the economic
growth. There still exist the risk of brain rain, so the government should find
proper solution to deal with this problem.
