01. Introduction
Cricket helmet is the most important Personal Protective Equipment used in Cricket for
reduces the risk of impact for most critical and vulnerable part of the human body called
head. This helmet should be safer and comfortable. Stress and thermal comfort analyses are
used for that purpose.
According to the official website of Guinness World Records, the highest speed of a ball
which is electronically measured is 161.3km/h (100.23mph) by Shoib Akhtar (Pakistan) in
2003 in World Cup match in South Africa. Thus, a ball may dissipate a very high amount of
kinetic energy at the time of impact instance and rapid head acceleration and neck movement.
The energy dissipated by an average ball may in range 80J-150J.
Head injuries
Linear acceleration of the head
Angular acceleration of the head

03. Aim
04. Objectives
To analyze currently used helmet for their performance in relation to impact effect
mitigation and thermal comfort.
To developed conceptual design and analyze for stress and distribution under impact
load and thermal effects.
To compared the performance of conceptual design and existing design.
05. Methodology
There are several ways to analyze the stress and thermal comfort. Mainly this is base on
research type. Several books, websites and human resource used to done this project. Current
using Cricket helmet design used this analysis and materials, design, dimensions, strength
and finite element methods considered for this project. Finally, conceptual design introduced
for overcome remaining limitations.
06. Outcome
Introduced high strength, more safer and more thermal comfort conceptual helmet.
