Beas Sewa Jatha Instructions : for Jatha Members

1 Jatha members should be flexible to perform sewa in any deptt. as per sewa requirement.
2 Members should reach the railway station platform atleast 1 Hour before the train departure time.
3 Members must carry their original ID proof - Aadhar Card, etc.
4 Members should carry their routine medicines along with doctor's prescription, as applicable.
5 Jatha members should not wear jewellery or carry other valuables and excess cash.
6 Jatha members should wear shoes according to sewa and weather conditions.
7 Parents must take care of their children (below 14 yrs).
8 Jatha members must travel with valid tickets only -- if without confirmed ticket, a general ticket must be purchased.
9 All safety precautions must be followed by jatha members while travelling and performing sewa.
10 Always use foot-over bridge to cross platforms instead of jumping over the railway tracks.
11 While boarding & de-boarding, all members should not rush towards coaches and must remain alert against pickpocketing.
12 While travelling, all jatha members must sit on their allotted seats only.
13 Members sitting on window seats must remain alert against snatching incidents in moving train & at stations.
14 Outside food or from unkown sources should not be taken during travel.
15 Jatha Members should not insist for sitting together and cause trouble / get into arguments with fellow passengers in any
situation.
16 Chain-pulling is a punishable offence as per Railway laws -- it should not be used other than emergency situation.
17 All jatha members should report together for sewa at Beas at the designated time.
18 Members should remain with the jatha and should not wander to nearby shopping centres inside Dera.
19 Jatha members should not go outside Dera premises during jatha sewa and even after sewa hours.
20 Jatha members should perform sewa as per the instructions given by Beas In-Charges.
Beas Sewa Jatha Instructions : for Jatha POC Centres & Pooling Centres
1 Prepare jatha as per the deptt-wise allotted count, age criteria and male-female ratio.
2 Centres to ensure that all jatha members are mentally & physically fit for doing jatha sewa.
3 Centres to conduct briefing/meeting of all members regarding do's & dont's of sewa jatha.
4 Jatha POC centre to share the 1st consolidated list of jatha members with AS Office for booking of train tickets – 10 days before
the date of jatha departure.
5 After the 1st lot of tickets booked through POC, respective centres need to book train tickets for additional jatha members on their
own, on real-time basis – in the same jatha train.
6 Appoint overall & centre jathedars well in time (with their consent) and make them aware of their jatha sewa responsibilities.
7 Provide jatha papers (nominal roll, attendance sheet, etc.) to the respective jathedar assigned for Beas sewa-deptt.
8 All jathedars (overall & centre's) must travel in train with other jatha members.
9 A Coach-Incharge can be identified & nominated among the jatha members travelling in each of the coach. Coach-Incharge to be
provided with tickets (& list of members) for their respective coach to interface with TTE.
10 Centres should send a team of sewadars to assist jatha members while boarding & de-boarding from the train - sewadars from
police or other armed forces background may also be considered.
11 Sewadars assisting in boarding/ deboarding of jatha members at stations must:
- Buy platform tickets (UTS app can be used to book the platform tickets)
- Wear sewa-jatha caps
- Ensure that jatha members do not cross railway tracks by using yellow patti
- Assist jatha members with their luggage
- Coordinate with station master regarding train halt-time so that all jatha members can board/de-board comfortably
12 Respective deptt-jathedar to share jatha-count with SIC, Beas Sewa Deptt. Overall jathedar to coordinate with SIC Beas (before
reaching Ambala) for transport arrangement from Beas Station to Dera.
13 Jathedars to ensure proper arrangement regarding booking of return tickets for all jatha members.
14 Jathedar to handover the Mobile phone & permission slip, Bicycle, etc. to the next jathedar.
15 Overall jathedar to coordinate with Langar Deptt. (a day before jatha return) to collect langar as per actual jatha count.
16 Jatha POC Centre to email scanned copies of Beas Jatha papers receiving within 2 days of jatha return from Beas.
