Mountain Lake Lodge, the original location for Dirty Dancing, is celebrating the movie

by hosting a Dirty Dancing-themed weekend from April 26th to 28th.

“Our planning is meticulous, with activities curated a year in advance to ensure an

unforgettable experience for our guests,” CEO Heidi Stone stated. “Guests not only get to relive

the romance of Dirty Dancing but also discover a destination rich in history and charm.”

The weekend allows guests to stay in popular locations from the film such as Baby’s

Cabin and Kellerman’s Mountain House. Mountain Lake Lodge is located in Pembroke, Virginia.

Reservations are required and prices depend on room style.

The two-night stay has buffet-style meals included for all guests for no additional charge

as well as hors d’oeuvres throughout the weekend. Drinks are not included in the package but are

available for purchase.

The weekend will host activities such as group dance lessons with professional dancers

portraying Baby and Johnny. No experience is needed for this, and the dances learned will be

like those performed in the movie.

On Friday and Saturday evening, Mountain Lake Lodge will host a dance party in Mary’s

Barn. This is the biggest event of the weekend and allows guests to use the dance moves they

learned prior. Guests are encouraged to dress up and sing along to popular songs from the

movie’s soundtrack, such as “Hungry Eyes” and “The Time of My Life”.

Another popular event hosted over the weekend is the film scene scavenger hunt. During

this, guests will locate signs around the property with locations from different scenes in the

movie. This allows guests to stand in the same places Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey once

stood.
 The Lodge has many different styles of rooms to best fit each guest. Singles, parlor

suites, and family suites are all available to best match the number of guests attending the

weekend event.

The resort also has Kellerman’s Gift Shop, a store with official Dirty Dancing and

Mountain Lake Lodge merchandise available for purchase. The store is set up to reflect the

iconic studio where Baby learned to dance.

Mountain Lake Lodge is also pet-friendly for those looking to stay but cannot leave their

pets at home. The resort requests that guests give notice in advance to properly prepare for their

stay. A one-time charge of $75 will be added to the guest’s account to stay in a pet-friendly room.

Pets must be on a leash at all times during their stay.

It is also important to note that air conditioning and televisions are not available in any

rooms. The Lodge recommends opening a window during the warmer months to prevent high

temperatures.

For guests not interested in Dirty Dancing, Mountain Lake Lodge is nestled in the

mountains of Pembroke, Virginia. The area offers many opportunities for nature lovers, such as

hiking trails, golf courses, paddle boarding, and more.

If guests are not able to attend in April, Mountain Lake Lodge hosts this event numerous

times throughout the year. The next one to occur will be from June 21st through June 23rd. These

events will be almost identical unless weather interferes.
