Prickly Pear Assembly
1.) First you will line up your 3 completed cactus pieces. Sew the medium piece to the large piece
around rows 2 and 3(of the large piece). Then sew the small piece to the medium piece around
rows 2 & 3 (of the medium piece).
2.) Take your completed flowers and using yellow yarn add the centers of the flowers.
You will wrap the yellow yarn around the middle of your flower 3 or 4 times. Try to keep the
yarn to the top only so it doesn’t show on the back side of your flower.
3.) Then you will line up where you would like your flowers to be placed on your cactus. I attached
mine on the right side of Medium Piece around rows 2 and 3. Then one on the large piece on
the top left on row 2.
4.) Now you will stuff your soil piece with fiber fill. Cut a small square of felt that is larger than your
soil piece.
5.) Take your glue gun and put hot glue around the rim of the bottom of the soil piece. You will
then glue the two pieces together.
Then trim the felt piece to where it is the same size as the soil. (It doesn’t matter if it looks
messy at the bottom because it will be hidden in the clay pot)
6.) You will now sew your cactus to the top of the soil. Make sure it is sewn on tightly and stands
securely before proceeding to the next step.
7.) Now you will draw a line less than ½ inch deep in the top rim of your clay pot. You will place
your hot glue around this line and quickly place your cactus soil into the pot. Hold it down a few
seconds to make sure it is secure.
