Explanation of Student Performance

All in all, I am a little bit disappointed with the overall turnout of the graphic
organizer grades. I based the grading of this only on the evaluative criteria shown
above, however, the majority of students did not turn in their assignment. The
majority of the graphic organizers were ✓+, so this makes me as a teacher feel as
though the readings and video were understood by the students. As far as the quiz
grades, the turnout was much better, and many students turned in the assignment. I
graded the quiz solely on correctness of answers and was pleased with the
accuracy. This makes me confident that my independent practice worked. My
students can improve on keeping track of their assignments, and I can also improve
on keeping up with the collection of them.

Next Steps

My next steps would be to address my class as a whole and communicate

better with them to keep track of their assignments and to turn them in to me for a
better student turnout. Most importantly, I want to see if all students have a good
understanding of the content, so next time I would make a bigger effort to collect
each student’s work. From my independent and concluding phase, I could see that
my students have a solid understanding of the lesson, and I am able to move on
from here.
