PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learner transfers learning by: showing ways of asserting one’s identity;
comprehending informative and short narrative texts using schema and appropriate
listening and viewing strategies; expressing ideas, opinions, and feelings through
various formats; and enriching written and spoken communication using direct/reported
speech, active/passive voice, simple past and past perfect tenses and connectors
correctly and appropriately.
LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
EN7G-III-c-2: Used the passive and active voice meaningfully in varied context.
I. Objectives
At the end of 1 – hour discussion, at least 85% of the Grade 7 – Philippians
students are expected to:
a. categorize the sentence into active and passive voice;
b. differentiate of active and passive voice by giving examples ;
c. reflect the importance of active and passive through sharing ideas; and
d. rewrite the given active voice sentence into passive voice sentence and
vice versa.

Passive Voice
In a passive voice,
the subject receives
the action.
The subject comes
after the action or at
the end of the
sentence. The
sentence is usually
longer and more
complex. The focus
is on the action
itself.
Rule: object + to be
+ past participle
verb + subject.
In order for you to
easily remember the
pattern of the passive
and active voice, just
remember these
