1-OBJETIVOS
Geral:
- The goal is to make the student aware of the most common adverbs in English, their
differences, and how to use them when writing and speaking.

Específicos:
- First specific goal: understand the most used adverbs and their meaning.
- Second specific goal: their position in a sentence.
- Third specific goal: put them into practice; developing the linguistic output.

2-METODOLOGIA
1. WARM UP
- The teacher starts off the small talk taking the opportunity to use some adverbs. After that,
the teacher will ask the student if he/she noticed any kind of words that keeps repeating
during the small talk. The teacher will explain these are adverbs of frequency.
- 5 min.

2. ACTING OUT:
- The teacher will use the student book provided by the school. Both teacher and student will
have the chapter on adverbs as their basis. The teacher will show in detail the most
common adverbs, then he will apply them to sentences by showing the different positions
different adverbs take in sentences, always making the student to be active by reading the
examples and asking questions. After that, the student will have to translate a paragraph
from Portuguese to English (part recorded as the micro-teaching session*).
- 20 min.

3. WRAP UP
- The teacher will recap what has been explained about adverbs and will finish by asking the
student to do some homework.
- 5 min.

5- Assignments:

- Assignment: make up a fictional dialogue you face during your everyday or workday life
where the use of adverbs is important. You need to write at least 5 exchanges between the
persons involved in the dialogue. Send the teacher an audio recording of the dialogue.
