Lunar Eclipse

What is it?

A LUNAR ECLIPSE IS AN ASTRONOMICAL EVENT

THAT HAPPENS WHEN THE EARTH GETS
BETWEEN THE SUN AND THE MOON,
GENERATING A CONE OF SHADOW THAT
OBSCURES THE MOON.

HOW CAN WE SEE IT?

Lunar eclipses can safely be viewed with the naked eye.

Why can we see it?

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves into the Earth's shadow. This
can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly or very closely
aligned (in syzygy) with Earth between the other two, and only on the night
of a full moon.
Where can we see it?

It can be seen in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Australia, the east coast of
Asia, and the west coast of the Americas.
