Merchandising Internship Program

The TJX Companies Inc.
770 Cochituate Rd.
Framingham, MA 01701

Dear TJX Merchandising Internship Program,

As a Marketing and International Business double major at Fairfield University I am passionate

about the connection between business and fashion all over the world. Both business and
marketing help to provide insight into how different locations have distinct approaches to fashion
and advertising. Through 4,700 TJX branded stores in nine different countries, TJX delivers
great value for low prices every day. I am eager to begin learning the process behind the
allocation of merchandise across stores, anticipating consumer patterns, as well as building that
“treasure hunt” experience that consumers know and love. I am hopeful that one day, I can be a
part of the world class buying organization of 1,200 TJX associates who seek to find the right
fashions, brands, and designs that make TJX the leading off-price apparel and home fashions
retailer worldwide.

Throughout the last year, I have been employed as a Global and Equity Focus Development
Intern in the Office of Student Engagement at Fairfield University. Alongside another intern, we
had the opportunity to cultivate a team of sixty-one New Student Leaders who have unique
personalities and values. Together, we created a welcoming team dynamic that valued each
individual student leader and encouraged members to share their perspectives on different
aspects of mentoring first year students. As part of the leadership team, we assisted in training
leaders how to create safe space environments for students from underrepresented communities.
We also helped leaders develop strategies that they can use to help first year students adapt to
their new life at Fairfield. I recognize the importance of advocating and encouraging first year
students as they navigate their first year of college. This opportunity helped me understand what
it means to lead and be a part of an inclusive team and face challenging tasks together. These
learned behaviors can help me contribute to the Merchandising Internship Team.

I am confident that I will be a positive addition who will provide value to your Merchandising
Internship Team for the Summer of 2023. I would be happy to discuss my qualifications further
in person. You can reach me at 774-230-8148 or email me at
katherine.lebrun@student.fairfield.edu. Thank you for taking the time to review my application
and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Katherine LeBrun
