Greetings:

Upon the strength of the urgent representations and assurances of Ms. FELY
EJEM for and on behalf accused KARL KRIS EJEM BAUTISTA and his mother, Ms.
GRACIA E. BAUTISTA, our legal services were engaged to defend him in the above-
referred cases as evidenced by a retainer contract dated August 13, 2013. The
terms of said retainership were ratified upon the payment by your good selves of
the first three installments stipulated therein.

After we secured the acquittal1 and release of KARL KRIS EJEM BAUTISTA
from two (2) years of detention after rigorous trial on the merits, there remained an
unpaid balance of our professional fees in the absolute amount of PESOS: ONE
HUNDRED FIFTY ONE THOUSAND (₱151,000.00), Philippine Currency, after
deducting the three (3) separate remittances of ₱3,000.00 each by Ms. FELY EJEM
on July, August and September 2016.

 Enclosed, for easy reference, is a machine copy of our retainer contract. You
will notice that all your payments were annotated thereon in the hand writing of our
Atty. MARVI MANUEL B. ROA.

Kindly make soonest arrangements with us for the expeditious payment of

the ₱151,000.00 that is already long over due. Otherwise, we shall regrettably be
constrained to avail ourselves of legal remedies for the collection of our earned
professional fees.
