Reflection Essay #3

The creation of an argument is a fundamental aspect of writing that serves as the

backbone of any piece of academic or persuasive writing. Developing an argument not only

helps in structuring the content of the writing but also plays a crucial role in improving the

overall quality of the writing. While writing this essay, I learned various ways in which the

creation of an argument aids in the improvement of writing in general, covering aspects such as

critical thinking, organization, coherence, and persuasiveness.

One of the primary ways in which the creation of an argument helped me in improving

writing is by fostering critical thinking and analysis. When formulating an argument, I was

required to analyze and evaluate various sources of information, evidence, and perspectives. This

process encouraged me to think critically about the topic at hand, to consider different

viewpoints, and to assess the validity and reliability of the evidence they use to support their

claims. This critical engagement with the subject matter not only enhanced the depth of my

writing but also contributed to the development of my analytical skills.

In the future, critical thinking and analysis will help my writing tremendously. Seeing the

different viewpoints from different resources and putting them together, made the strategy

simpler to put it in an essay. By understanding how to present a persuasive case, I can effectively

convey ideas and influence the opinions of an audience, thus enhancing the impact of my

writing.
