Good morning everyone, I am Frida Kahlo and it is an honor for me to be here with you today and to talk about my
life, please pay attention because at the end there will be questions.

I am a Mexican artist.
I was born on July 6, 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico City.

I didn´t come from a large family, I am the third of four daughters of Matilde Calderón and the photographer
Guillermo Kahlo.
My life was marked from an early age by the physical suffering and illnesses I endured. My first illness was
polio in 1913. From then on, I suffered a series of injuries, accidents and operations.
I studied medicine at the German School and the National Preparatory School in Mexico City..
I am married to painter Diego Rivera, the man I met at age 16, Diego is the love of my life. But we never
have children.
I am passionate about life. I have a seductive effect and I am charming to everyone. People love my beauty,
personality and talent.

I am a painter belonging to magical realism and self-portrait, also a writer, poet and social activist. My work
revolved thematically around my biography and my own suffering. I am the author of 150 works,

I have a great social impact because I became a feminist symbol
I am a heroine of my time, because I made Mexican art visible and opposed gender oppression.
I became famous for my controversial works of art in which I represent the claims of feminism, the defense
of indigenous and sexual diversity.
The most important lesson I can give you is that we must be the muses of our own destiny and never be
afraid to express ourselves.
