START:IT Unit 4 Business Plan Handout

1. Executive summary:
The first section should be a concise overview of your business plan. While the summary should be
short, it must be well written: Your goal is to draw readers in so they want to read more about your
company. Though this section appears first, consider writing it last, after you've worked out the details of
your plan and can summarize your thoughts. The executive summary for a standard business plan should
include:
▪ Your business name and location
▪ The products and/or services offered
▪ Your company's mission statement
▪ The purpose of your plan (to secure investors, set strategies, etc.)

Our business is Chance Vought aircraft corporation and you can find us on Long
Island, New York . We create F4U Corsairs, a type of plane that can be used for racing. Our mission is to
give everyone a great racing experience. We want to sell as many F4Us as we can so people can have fun
racing their planes.
2. Company description:
This high-level view of your company should explain who you are, how you operate and what your goals
are. The company description should feature:
▪ Who owns your business
▪ What problem is your business solving?
▪ A brief history (one to two sentences)
▪ A summary of your short-term and long-term business goals

Our business is run by Alexander Ananian. We are changing the racing world by
manufacturing these well made planes. This company was founded by Chance Vought in the 1900s. By
this month we want to sell and manufacture 20 Corsairs. And by this year we want to sell and
manufacture 200 Corsairs.
3. Products/services:
Clearly describe what you are selling, focusing on the customer benefits. Consider adding pictures or
diagrams. In general, this section should include:
▪ An in-depth description of your products/services
▪ An explanation of the market role of your product/service and advantages it has over the
competition

As you can see above this is what our planes look like, and you may have noticed that it
says marines and has the U.S Air Force Emblem on it. That is, because we used to manufacture these
planes in WW2, but now we manufacture them for racing. This plane has 2,000 horsepower and can
reach speeds over 400 mph. It has great turn performance and maneuverability and can handle those
low altitudes very well. Also, don't worry about the guns we have taken all of them out from every plane
we could find, only the holes remain. Our plane is better than most racing planes, because it is especially
designed for maneuverable aerobatics, which is perfect for racing around obstacles.

4. Organization and management team:


Outline your company's organizational structure, and identify the company owners, management team
and board of directors. Include the following:
▪ An organizational chart with descriptions of key employees
▪ Profiles of your management team, including their names, positions, main responsibilities and
past experience

5. Closing Statement
A closing statement should be brief, and remind the reader what they are supporting and why your
product is the best. Don’t go too crazy here, and remember to talk yourself up!
