 PREFACE
INTRODUCTION:
Portfolios focus on students’ reflections on their own work. They are records of
learning, growth, and change. They provide meaningful documentation of students’
abilities. Portfolios provide information to students, parents, teachers, possible
employers and members of the community about what students have learned or are
able to do. They can also represent a learning history. Portfolios bring together
curriculum, instruction and assessment. Through the use of portfolios, teachers and
students can develop a shared understanding of what constitutes quality work, and
acquire a common language for evaluating students’ accomplishments .

OBJECTIVES OF WORK IMMERSION

The learners shall be able to:
• Generate comments, feedbacks and observations on the feasibility,
appropriateness and relevance of concept
• examine the preparedness and completeness of the output based on the key
concepts, principles and processes of humanities and social sciences
• Showcase their understanding of the key concepts, principles, and processes of
humanities and social sciences through an exhibition
• Produce a creative portfolio that will integrate their learning in specialized
learning areas under humanities or social sciences

MEANING OF WORK IMMERSION

 Work immersion enables learners to become familiar with the workplace,
simulate work, and their competencies in authentic work environment. 2017, the
program aims to help develop life and career skills and prepare learners to decide
regarding post-secondary education or employment.
“Work immersion refers to the part of the senior high school curriculum
consisting of 80 hours of hands on experience or work simulation which the grade
12 students undergo to expose them to the actual work place setting and to enrich
the competencies provided by the school under the supervision of the school head
and designated personnel of the partner”.

place in my heart as it not only introduced me to a variety of activities like cultural dances, hip-hop,
festivals, and cheerleading, but also created lasting memories filled with joy and camaraderie. The
moments spent practicing were a blend of exhaustion and happiness, and the shared experiences of
creating class vlogs brought us closer together. Through PE, I not only gained new skills but also
forged strong friendships with my classmates, transforming awkward interactions into meaningful
connections that endure beyond the classroom.
