LONG VOWELS

LIP
OO: Barons, my lords, whom shall we send of you to Saragossa, the Sarsen king unto?”
“Myself,” quoth Roland, “may well this errand do.”
“That shall you not,” Count Oliver let loose. “You’re high of heart and stubborn of your mood.
You’d land yourself I warrant in some feud. By the King’s leave, this errand will I do.”

OH: There was a little mole who lived below the ground he was very very old and he never made a
sound he’d had so many troubles with his family you know there was Tony mole and Bubbles
and the twins called So and So but now they have departed and left him all alone and since
they’ve gone they’ve started to have troubles of their own.

AW: I know a place called Warling and it comes into my mind that for such a place as Warling it is
hard a rhyme to find so try calling calling calling and then bawling bawling bawling making
noises quite appalling like an old cat caterwauling but the game is most enthralling and it may
be that in time for this little place called Warling you will chance to find a rhyme.

NEUTRAL
AH: I look through the windows I peer through the barn bars and I can see nothing but the sky and
the far away stars the sky glistens darkly the night is so darn clear the stars are all sparkly and
parked ever so near.

TONGUE
ER: I have of late lost all my mirth forgone all custom of exercises and indeed it goes so heavily
with my disposition that this goodly frame the earth seems to me a sterile promontory this brave
o’erhanging firmament appeareth nothing to me but a foul congregation of vapors what a piece
of work is a man the beauty of the world and yet to me what is this quintessence of dust.

AY: What do we know of Alfred the Great mate we know his name but forget the fake date one
thing we all know of is the date cake the cottager’s wife made and gave him to bake and not be
late for his own sake.

EE: Why do people rush to crown me queen who can even want to see me they have seen my
downfall will their praise deliver me oh bury me at the bottom of the sea.
