STAIRWAY TO THE FEEDER -

Lola turns onto the stairway and Blossom is waiting for them.
She's furious and menacing, looking down on Lola from her
elevated position on the stairway. Lola doesn't approach.

BLOSSOM
Have fun?

Oliver comes onto the stairway, defeated.

OLIVER
We didn't find anything. Happy?

BLOSSOM

TI
Happy?

Blossom storms back up to the platform. Lola follows her.

FEEDER PLATFORM -

Blossom backs up onto the platform, yelling at the circle.
Abigail and Peter are standing awkwardly behind her.

BLOSSOM
The Feeder hasn't worked since you

left. Does that make you HAPPY?

Lola pops her head up, in a weaker position, caught and

exhausted. She doesn't look like she has any fight left.

Lola slinks onto the platform to see Blossom standing flanked

by Abigail and Peter. Oliver pops his head up.

BLOSSOM (CONT’D)
And you didn't even find ANYTHING?

(turning to the others)

ES

THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING!

Oliver steps onto the platform.

OLIVER
Can we eat now that we're all here?

Abigail smiles at him. He doesn't smile back.

ABIGAIL
We'll all feel better after we've
eaten-
 2.

BLOSSOM
Not until they promise no more
exploring. We finish the evaluation
here.

Lola's slumped defeatism changes on a dime to righteous fury.

LOLA
The evaluation? Wake up! We're in
prison. This is a fucking prison.

There's a deadly silence amongst everyone else. They all look
between each other and their surroundings (their watchers).

Lola clocks them looking around:

LOLA (CONT’D)
They lied to us! This is a lie.
They don't stab you in the neck for

a formality evaluation. They don't
starve you and lock you in hell.

Oliver steps past Lola to Blossom's side.

OLIVER
No more exploring.

Lola grabs onto his jumpsuit sleeve.

LOLA
(to Oliver)
You know what she's like-

Oliver pulls his arm back, suddenly exploding. The puppy dog

becoming the attack dog out of nowhere.

OLIVER
Why'd you make me go all that way

if you thought this was a prison?

You knew we weren't going to find
anything-
ES

Lola backs up, intimidated. Her feet reach the edge of the
circular stairway hole.

LOLA
I didn't know that-

OLIVER
You didn't tell me. So I don't get
a say with you either.

Lola looks at the wall of anger facing her from Blossom,

Peter, and Oliver.

But wait. Abigail gives her a smile and mouths, "sorry."

BLOSSOM
No more exploring?

Lola keeps focused on Abigail who nods at her to agree.

LOLA
Yeah.

Blossom turns to the Feeder. As she goes, Peter, Abigail, and

Oliver make way for her. She's the uncontested leader.

Blossom takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, and says a
little prayer under her breath to herself. And then, she

sticks out her tongue at the Feeder.

What pops out of the mouth is no longer the slimy, gray

AS
composite meat, but a large piece of pink, glistening ham!

Blossom's eyes glow. She takes a big bite of it, making

sounds of delight. Her anger melts away.

Blossom turns to Oliver, motioning him forward, his reward
for switching sides is eating first. Oliver steps up. When he

tastes the ham, he stands tall.
TO

OLIVER
Now this is rich people food.
(taking another bite)
Tastes like Mars to me!

Blossom, Peter, and Abigail laugh.

AM

Peter then Abigail eat, both making rapturous sounds of

delight. Then Lola steps up to the Feeder.
H

She sticks her tongue out. There's a delay and everyone looks
over, while continuing to eat their piece of ham.
ES

Then the gray, slimy composite meat drops into Lola's hand.
Blossom lights up.

BLOSSOM

(mouth full)
I told you! I told you. It's
telling us what it wants. It's
rewarding us.

Blossom looks happier than ever.

Lola takes her composite meat and heads away from the Feeder
and the rest of the group. She goes to the edge of the
platform with her back to them.
 4.

Lola looks down at the gray slimy meat, crushing it in her

hands. Her anger rises and she goes to throw it off the
platform...But she stops. She's starving.

Her knees go weak and she almost falls.
