Essay Skeleton on Fast Fashion and its Impacts on the Environment:

Introduction:

• Presentation of the theme: Fast fashion and its environmental impact.

• Brief explanation of the concept of fast fashion. with the systematization of textile
processes it is faster and faster to copy trends in large quantities

• Thesis Statement: The Rapid Production and Consumption Cycle of Fast Fashion and
Environmental Consequences

• Development:

1. Excessive use of natural resources:

The fast-moving production cycle of fast fashion puts enormous pressure on natural
resources. From the cultivation of raw materials such as cotton to the processing of textiles
and the manufacture of garments, each stage of the supply chain requires significant
amounts of water, energy and chemicals. This leads to overexploitation of natural resources
and pollution of air and water.

2. Generation of textile waste:

fast fashion promotes a culture of unbridled consumption and disposable fashion. Garments
are produced in large quantities and sold at low prices, which encourages consumers to buy
more than they need and to discard garments after limited use. As a result, huge amounts of
textile waste are generated that end up in landfills, where it takes decades to decompose and
release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

3. Contribution to climate change:

Another worrying aspect of fast fashion is its contribution to climate change. The production
of garments involves significant emissions of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide,
both during transport and at the manufacturing stages. These emissions contribute to global
warming and climate change, with devastating consequences for natural ecosystems and for
humankind in general.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, fast fashion poses a serious threat to the environment. Their accelerated
production cycle and overconsumption culture are depleting natural resources, generating
massive textile waste and contributing to climate change.
