Some scientists are responsible for the negative impacts that are made by their discoveries

It’s undeniable that the breakthrough in technology will lead to negative impacts that will exert on
society. However, most of the time, the positive influence of this technological or scientific
breakthrough far exceeds the possible negative externalities. As society enjoys the benefit and
convenience this discovery provides them, they will have to bear with the negative impacts. It’s a
fact that every discovery is double-sided, it’s nearly impossible to perfect it to a point that it is
completely beneficial to everyone. Since different parts of the population demand different things,
it is inevitable that some portion of the population will be impacted negatively, but a relatively
larger proportion will benefit from it. And it is reasonable to claim that the positive influence that
the discovery brings to the entire society could counteract the subtle negative impact that may
only act on some specific group of the community. It is overall much more beneficial to the
society than possible negative impacts, scientists should not be responsible for it. Since people
have to endure the negativities while they enjoy the benefit.
