Course Description

This course will introduce students to the fundamental concepts and tools of supply chain analytics. Students will learn
how to collect and analyze data to identify and solve supply chain problems. They will also learn how to use analytics to
make better decisions about supply chain design and operations.

Develop Understanding of local restrictions regarding ethical activities in retailing and manufacturing

Ability of students to understand the influence of local business and political environment, culture, practices and
economics.
Ability to recognize global values, norms, attitude, practices, trends, legal environment, and behavior for business decision
processes.
Recognizing host location's values, practices, constraints, and cultural norms when making business decisions

At the end of the course, the participants will be able:

1. To define the key performance indicator of Supply chain management (SCM) [PLO-204]
2. To identify the inefficiencies in SC through data interpretation and visualization [PLO-204]
3. To understand the dynamic behavior of supply chains over time [PLO-303]
4. To Evaluate the performance of supply chain using appropriate KPI’s [PLO-303]

There is no textbook for this course. Instead, students are suggested to refer to the above. Students are required to
complete all readings and case studies prior to each class, and these will be presented and reviewed in lecture, individual
and group discussion formats. Additional readings may be assigned by the instructor. Students are suggested to refer to
relevant latest versions of various certification materials applicable in this course.

As per global standards of performance appraisal, three broad categories of evaluation of CP are given below

1. BE – Below Expectations (6)


• You are consistently absent/late from class
• You attend class without showing any evidence of being ‘mentally’ present

2. ME – Meets Expectation (8)

• You are present and courteous, and introduce new and thought-provoking ideas, concepts and issues in class.

Term Report

The report should cover the following aspects:


 Organization should be a manufacturing and/or retailing concern. Can be an online start up.
 Visits to the company is compulsory. The visits should be logged and attached in the appendix
 The Supply Chain organogram should be defined
 Supply Chain Strategy must be defined
 Study the P-to-P process, MRP / MPS/ ERP systems must be explained
 Performance benchmarks must be stated. Dashboards, KPIs etc
 Major problems in Supply Chain need to be identified and analyzed
 There must be recommendations at the end of the report. Grading is dependent on this
 Groups of five people or less
 Report size: Maximum 15 pages excluding Appendixes and Table of Contents
 Font to be used Times New Roman: 12 pt.
