Title: The Water Cycle

Water is constantly on the move. It changes from liquid to gas and back again in an
amazing process called the water cycle. This cycle is crucial for Earth’s ecosystems,
ensuring that water is always available for plants, animals, and people.

The water cycle begins with evaporation. This is when the sun heats up water in
rivers, lakes, and oceans and turns it into vapor or steam. The vapor rises into the
air, forming clouds.

Next comes condensation. As the vapor rises, it cools and changes back into tiny
water droplets, forming clouds. This is like seeing your breath on a cold day.

When the clouds get heavy, the water falls back to Earth as precipitation. This can
be in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail. Precipitation replenishes water sources
like rivers, lakes, and underground aquifers.

Finally, the water runs off into bodies of water or soaks into the ground, where it can
be taken up by plants and eventually evaporate again, continuing the cycle.

Understanding the water cycle helps us appreciate the importance of water

conservation. By using water wisely and not wasting it, we can ensure that this life-
sustaining cycle continues for generations to come.
