Term Reasoning
The military police have demonstrated their ability to move, communicate, and engage the
enemy. By sustained outstanding performance of combat and combat support missions,
they have met all established criteria. I fully endorse the military police for a basic role in
Army planning as a combat support element.
Policing
We in America have learned bitter lessons from two World Wars: It is better to be here
ready to protect the peace, than to take blind shelter across the sea, rushing to respond
only after freedom is lost. We’ve learned that isolationism never was and never will be
acceptable to tyrannical governments with an expansionist intent.

Insurgency
The business of this corps is to watch over the good order and regularity of the Army, in
camp, quarters, or on a march; to silence all quarrels, tumults and riots; detect and hinder
every species of marauding, prevent straggling and other unsoldier like licenses among
the troops.

The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence
of police action in dealing with it.

The experience of the American Expeditionary Forces in France has demonstrated the
necessity of a well-trained and organized military police in times of war with many units
not attached to tactical divisions, immediately available for use at the disposition of the
High Command.

These brave men won a costly change of image for the military police, one for which all
past, present, and future members of the Military Police Corps can justifiably point to with
pride and humility-for this was indeed the Corps' finest hour.

A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and
the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but
becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent.
