B. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other text types serve as a source of wisdom in expressing and
resolving personal conflicts, also how to use strategies in linking textual information, repairing, enhancing communication public
speaking, strategies in making a powerful persuasive essay and proper use of different modals according to their special functions.
D. Performance Standard The learners will make a short but powerful persuasive essay on turning challenges to opportunities using a variety of persuasive
techniques to effectively convince others.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson ELICIT  MAKE THEM GUESS!
or presenting the new Review of the previous lesson:

Group the class into 4 by place, ask them to think of any local products that they would like advertise to
the people from the different places applying the different techniques that were just discussed with
them. Encourage every member of the group to participate and should have a contribution to their
output to strengthen the essence of unity or “binnadang” in our local term. During their presentation ask
the different groups to observe and later on after all the groups presented they will be giving their
comments and suggestions for improvements.

Binnadang is part of our culture which still exist today in our community, Binnadang means helping
out the needy or giving a hand to our neighbors or any members of the community to lessen their
workloads during wakes or minatayan, weddings or kasar, building of houses (buhos) etc.
