I. INTRODUCTION
- Frank Zappa.
The topic I chose for the attestation paper is rock music and the
evolution of this genre. From my point of view, rock music helps me get
rid of my worries and daily activities. I can escape in music every time
and process what happened in a situation so I can react to it. It’s the type
o feeling that you can understandable if you live it. Some time ago, we
had a group of friends, with who we only listened to rock music. It had
3
influenced my mood, my group of friends, my clothes, and so on. We
still listen in our headphones to: Nirvana, Three Days Grace, Disturbed,
Nickelback, Evanescence, and many others. the history of this musical
phenomenon teaches us that beyond skin color, appearance, income, and
origin, we are all people with feelings, dreams, and desires, and it
teaches us that everything is possible. I'm into rock 'n' roll because rock
'n' roll, to me, means freedom. The best rock music not only makes you
tap your feet, it also touches your heart as well as your mind.
The musical genres are vast, but also complex from all points of view.
The differences between them are remarkable, but the common point is
the feeling it gives you. There are many people who are attracted to
distinct type of musical style, which is normal, because of the diversity.
Being a natural aspect, it must be accepted regardless of whether the
musical styles listened to by the people around us do not coincide with
the personal ones. Rock, like other types of music, should be given the
same freedoms and rights to be played and heard by those who want to
listen. Rock music will never go out of style especially in the new
generation, because people find themselves in this music that expresses
an infinite range of feelings, from sadness and melancholy, to pure love
or revolt and exteriorization. of positive or negative energy. Although
this musical genre is not listened to by everyone, it has many interesting
aspects related to both history and the various subgenres of rock music,
which are not few at all.

II. CHAPTER 1
Rock and roll, also called rock ’n’ roll or rock & roll, style of popular
music that originated in the United States in the mid-1950s and that
evolved by the mid-1960s into the more encompassing international style
known as rock music, though the latter also continued to be known as
rock and roll.
The Rhythm and Blues are the main innovators behind the
development of Rock and Roll music. Elements of rock and roll can be
heard from the Blues music in the 1920s. Little Richard (one of the
greatest innovators in 1950s rock music) said that “Rhythm and Blues
had a baby and somebody named it rock and roll.” R&B is not the only
form of music that created Rock and Roll though, it was influenced by
5
country and western music. Country and western music also originated
in Southern America during the 1920s. This form of music usually
consists of ballads, dance tunes and harmonies and the major instruments
used are banjos, electric and acoustic guitars.

2. What is Rock Music?
Rock is indeed the most creative genre of music, rock and roll has
been a huge cultural force. Driving, intense, energetic, and almost always
loud, rock music was the most popular form of music for decades before
hip-hop went mainstream. Dominating the airwaves for nearly 50 years,
rock spawned dozens of sub-genres – everything from intricate, lyrical
folk-rock to the most brutal forms of extreme death metal. It’s played in
small bars and sold-out arenas, garages and concert halls, and has made
its mark all over the world.
The origins of rock can be traced back to the 1940's when popular styles
were country music and blues which turned into a new sound aided by
electric guitars and a steady drum beat. Pioneers of 1950s rock like
Chuck Berry or based on classical blues structures while a special flair.
7
Unlike the safe pop music of the time, the aggressive attack of rock
suggested a sexual freedom that was shocking for that conservative era.
By the early 1960s, Berry's followers, especially the Rolling Stones, had
expanded the scope of rock, from singles to musicians capable of
producing coherent albums. Embracing the youth rebellion in their
music, the Stones had a lot of controversy but raised rock to new cultural
heights.

2. Favorite lyrics
There have been so many incredible rock songs produced over the years
and with them, some amazing lyrics that have become ingrained into our
consciousness.
The last verses are repeated like a storm: "Don't you think that you need
somebody (...) Everybody needs somebody" reflecting the fact that the
girlfriend has been left alone for a while, in this relationship and it is
12
natural to break up, and November is the perfect month to be depressed
after a breakup.
For the lyrics that became an anthem, for Slash's guitar solo from the
fourth minute of the song, for the creativity of this world-class band and
for the torrent of feelings expressed so well in this song, we can easily
call it a song epic
This band, Nirvana, innovated the grundge. Kurt Cobain's voice means
grundge, and lazy guitar and nostalgic, slightly ironic lyrics go hand in
hand.
Here are the key verses: "Where do bad folks go when they die? They
don't go to Heaven where the angels fly, They go to the lake of fire and
13
fry, see them again 'till the fourth of July." They defy the biblical view of
heaven and hell: "They try to find some place to rest their bones, while
the angels and the devils try to make their own."
Thus, "the lake of fire" is a space for the oropsites, where parties are held
in honor and where souls train their memories, nostalgia being present in
the air and in their voices.
