I am very proud to be a Filipino because of Andres Bonifacio and the katipunan because of their

bravery This organization spread rapidly in 1894 in many parts of the Philippines. He felt that he was
about ready to lead a successful revolt in May 1896. However, before he could act, the Katipunan was
discovered by the authorities. More than 1,000 Katipuneros assembled with him at Pugad Lawin,
Caloocan, on August 23, 1896 and tore their cedulas. Since the time the Katipunan was discovered, they
evaded arrest, won uncertain victories and incurred severe defeats. This prompted the Magdiwang
faction to invite Bonifacio to Cavite to settle their differences and remain united, the image is on figure 4

The term "Cry" is translated from the Spanish el grito de rebelion (cry of rebellion) or el grito for
short. Thus the Grito de Balintawak is comparable to Mexico's Grito De Dolores (1810). However, el grito
de rebelion strictly refers to a decision or call to revolt. It does not necessarily connote shouting, unlike
the Filipino sigaw , three days after the cry of pugad lawin, the supremo asked Dr. pio to travel to
pateros and binan to inform and alert the people on the planned attack in manila. the image is on figure
