OPENING PROGRAMME

(Preparation)
Good morning, everyone. We are about to begin our Opening Ceremony, so
please 昀椀nd a seat and make yourselves comfortable. Thank you.

Part I (Opening Program)


I. INTRODUCTION
Emcee: Martin Luther King once said, “If we want to change the world, pick up your
pen and write.” Today, we are gathered here to showcase the outstanding journalistic
endeavors of the students from various schools across our division.
To the highly esteemed Schools Division Superintendent of Albay, Ma’am NENE
ROSAL-MERIOLES, to the equally competent Assistant Schools Division
Superintendents, Ma’am BERNIE C. DESPABILADERO and Ma’am MARIVIC P.
DIAZ, to the Chief Education Supervisor of CID (Curriculum Implementation
Division), Ma’am SANCITA B. PEÑARUBIA, as well as the Chief Education Supervisor
of SGOD (School Governance and Operations Division, Sir EDWIN L. MIAS, to our
Education Program Supervisor of English, Ma’am MAI ANNE D. RONDOLA and
Education Program Supervisor of Filipino, Sir ALLAN M. LOTERTE, to our very
supportive Mayor, Hon. RAYMOND ADRIAN E. SALCEDA, to the proactive Public
Schools District Supervisor, Ma’am SHERYL S. SABANDO, to the ever-dynamic
Principal IV of PGCHS, Dr. LOURDES R. BIGCAS, dedicated assistant principals,
Ma’am ELSA E. RABANO, Sir FRANCIS JAY S. LUMIBAO, JHS-Designate and Ma’am
HILDA C. REMENDADO, SHS-Designate, passionate department heads, motivated
and committed PGCHS faculty members, teacher coaches, our young journalists from
the 25 districts of Albay, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant morning!
WELCOME TO THE OPENING PROGRAM OF THE 2024 DIVISION SCHOOLS
PRESS CONFERENCE FOR ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY LEVEL!
II. PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM/PRAYER/DEPED ALBAY HYMN
To formally start with our program, let us all stand as we pay homage to the
symbol of our country through the singing of the Philippine National Anthem to be
accompanied by the PGCHS Rondalla.
III. PRAYER/DEPED ALBAY HYMN
Please also remain standing for the Prayer to be led by the PGCHS Chorale
which will be followed by the singing of the DepEd Albay Hymn to be conducted by
Ma’am Rizza Mae R. Merced, PGCHS SPA Coordinator.
IV. OPENING REMARKS
Thank you very much. You may now be seated.
To share some words of encouragement and to welcome everyone to our
humble institution, may we call on stage our dedicated principal, Dr. Lourdes R.
Bigcas. Let’s give her a round of applause.

Thank you, Ma’am Des for those warm words of welcome. (Adlib from the

As we gather here today to foster the values of truth, integrity, and freedom of
expression, it is 昀椀tting that we introduce someone who embodies these principles in
their daily work. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to this leader whose
dedication to public service inspires us all, the Municipal Mayor of Polangui, Hon.
Mayor Raymond Adrian E. Salceda. Let’s give him a big hand.

This time, someone whose leadership and vision has steered our division
towards greater heights of academic achievement will also give us her words of
welcome. May we call on stage, the Chief Education Supervisor of the Curriculum
Implementation Division, let’s clap our hands for Ma’am Sancita B. Peñarubia.

Before we commence with the presentation, another person will also give her
welcoming words. She is someone who embodies dedication to education and the
advancement of our schools' division. Please help me in welcoming our new Assistant
Schools Division Superintendent, Ma’am Bernie C. Despabiladero. Let’s give her a
resounding round of applause.

invaluable to our students as they embark on this journey of journalistic excellence.

V. PRESENTATION OF THE 2024 DSPC DELEGATES
Let us now move forward with our program, fueled by the inspiration and
encouragement we have received. Now, we will dive into the heart of today's event—
the PRESENTATION OF THE 2024 DIVISION SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE
DELEGATES. May we call on, our Education Program Supervisor in Filipino, Sir Allan M.
Loterte. Let’s give him a big hand.
Thank you, Sir Allan for presenting the talented and promising young journalists
who will be competing in the di昀昀erent events today and tomorrow.
VI. JOURNALIST CREED
As we immerse ourselves in the world of journalism, it is essential that we 昀椀rmly
establish the good values and ethics. To lead the delegates in reciting the timeless
Journalist Creed, may we have on stage, the 2023 NSPC Quali昀椀er from Polangui South
District, let’s clap our hands for Mariah S. Salting.
Thank you, Mariah for that stirring rendition of the Journalist Creed. Your words
resonate deeply with all of us, serving as a reminder of the vital role journalism plays
in our society.
VII. INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE AND DECLARATION OF THE FORMAL OPENING
OF 2024 DSPC
To kick-o昀昀 this morning’s program, we are honored to have with us today our
very noble Schools Division Superintendent to share her words of wisdom and
inspiration and declares the formal opening of the 2024 Division Schools Press

Conference. She is none other than, Ma’am NENE ROSAL-MERIOLES. Let us welcome
her with a warm round of applause.
Thank you so much, Ma’am Nene. Your support and encouragement mean the
world to us. Your vision and guidance have empowered countless students and
educators alike to strive for greatness. (Adlib from her message).
VIII. CONTEST MECHANICS
And now, with great pleasure, I’m happy to announce that the 2024 Division
Schools Press Conference is formally open. This time, to enlighten us with the
mechanics and guidelines of this highly anticipated contest, may we call on stage,
Ma’am Mai Anne D. Rondola, the Education Program Supervisor of English. Let’s give
her a round of applause.
Thank you, Mam Mai Anne for guiding us with the contest mechanics and
guidelines that ensure fairness and transparency throughout the contest.
IX. OUTRO
That concludes our opening ceremony. To our young journalists, remember that
your involvement today, regardless of the outcome, is evidence of your dedication to
the search for knowledge and the truth. Let your pens be your swords and may the
power of your words resonate throughout our campus and beyond.

To all the contestants and teacher coaches, you may now proceed to your
respective room assignments and venues for the lectures. Once again, good morning
