Southland Car Club Meeting Minutes for April 11, 2024, at Golden Corral
The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm.

Attendance: 38 members.

Previous Meeting Minutes Read By: The March meeting minutes were not read aloud as
it was posted in the newsletter, which is on The Southland Car Club web page.
Motion to Accept: Monty Hassell

The newsletter is emailed to all members each month.

Presidents Report: Role of President, Board Members, and board meetings explained. 2
emails sent to members who have not paid dues. Anyone who did not respond is
considered not rejoining. Tipper Tie asked for cars for their event May 15, 2024, if
anyone is interested. Met with new manager, Colleen Roby, of The Old North State Food
Hall. All arrangements will stay the same. We are on track to raise $5,000 to $8,000 in
donations this year. The Newsletter will no longer post anything about the sick and
needy, or the actual birth dates of members.

Treasurers Report: Read by Tony Losada. It was approved by all and will be kept on file,
available upon request.

Social Committee: Mary Mills joined the committee. Sherry Morales stepped out. Linda
Allen will get in touch with members to get started. No news was presented.

Scholarship Committee: Scholarship acceptance explained. No applicants yet for

scholarships as of this date. Sherry will get in touch with the Guidance Councilor of
Cleaveland High School to check on any updates on applicants. Deadline for
applications is May 10, 2024.

Unfinished Business: Porta Potties ordered and trash cans are needed for Swap Meet on
April 28, 2024. A copy of the car show flyer was sent to Decon Jones for their approval.
All is on track for the show in October. The E-Commerce site is up and running on our
site. Ali from Sound Station is considering sponsoring trophies for our show in October.
Checking on prices for pennants for cars as we travel to events.

New Business: Barbour Court wants us to go on May 17, 2024, from 2:00-
4:00. Email sent about donation.
April events are posted in the April newsletter. We will use the group text to
let members know where the club will be attending events, as well as meet-
up points so we can arrive as a group.
